Factor City kicks off its third decade in full swing, led by Undo solo and accompanied by its usual partners Casiowaves and Vicknoise.

It all began in 2003 when Undo & Vicknoise laid the foundation for the label with "Noctámbula," and over the years, they continued to collaborate closely, managing the label and producing "hits" such as "Orca" or "Happy Monday." From 2011 onward, following an amicable parting, Undo began to run the label solo while maintaining the same spirit and distinctive sound of the Barcelona-based label, always at the forefront of dance music produced in Spain.

Now, in 2024, in a "digital” world where fewer and fewer things can be touched with our fingers and where 100,000 songs are uploaded to Spotify every day, Factor City is charting a different course and starts a new decade on the dance floors by returning to vinyl releases and persisting in their low key and relaxed approach, releasing few and carefully curated records from their artists each year. 

“Ciudad Futura” opens with "Good Times," a track by Undo that radiates joy and positivity. An euphoric ride through landscapes of analog synthesizers and drum machines. The second track on side A is signed by Undo & Vicknoise, who hadn't produced together in 15 years. And we hope they won't take as long to get back in the studio together after hearing the fantastic track "Electric Rainbow." A delightful slice of electro-disco. 

The B side is signed by the recent combo of Undo and Casiowaves. The first track, "Secret Worlds," follows in the wake of their recent releases on Factor City and Melodize with that winning combination of retro 80s and 90s synths with vocoders and a more contemporary production. Closing out the record is "Astralia," a vibrant "power synth pop" anthem adorned with FM synths and acid-tinged melodies.

Jorkes’ Freeride Millenium label has released charity album ‘Queer Base vol.2’, out now!
The 19-track LP features a raft of leftfield electronic stars, with all profits going to the Vienna-based charity of the same name

Queer Base is a charity in Vienna that offers social and legal counselling to LGBTQI+ refugees who arrive in
Austria, including providing help with court cases, finding housing, community events, organising German
lessons, HIV/STI testing, and more.

It is a pleasure to welcome back Darkroom Dubs favourite Undo (aka Gabriel Berlanga) with Naranja Limon - a vibrant 2-track EP packed tight with luscious synths, rich tones, and evocative melodies. With an impressive back catalogue of original productions, open-minded live and DJ sets, and his imprint, Factory City, Gabriel is an established contributor to Catalonia's ever-evolving underground electronic music scene and beyond. 

The feel-good title track, Naranja Limon, has a Balearic optimism throughout its five minutes of blissful energy. A laidback, joyous bassline engulfs you in a warm ray of sunshine, whilst light and airy synths float and flutter away like leaves in a gentle breeze, giving the feeling of having stumbled into a paradisical setting, far away from the constraints and worries of everyday reality. The track perfectly encapsulates the uplifting feeling of a sun-soaked dancefloor filled with smiling faces no matter where you turn, the perfect soundtrack for a carefree summer afternoon Terrace session. 

The second track, Liquid, flows in a more emotionally charged, melancholic direction, sculpted by an array of complex sonic elements which meld together to form a rich electronic soundscape. A powerful arpeggiator with a warm, gritty character leads the charge and provides the dynamic, raw energy. A stuttering, jittery pad fills the peripheral space, immersing you in euphoric atmospherics. The break then reveals a contrastingly delicate, lush, ethereal melody which emerges from the dense harmonics,  inviting you to close your eyes and be swept away, guiding you deep into the depths on a revitalising mission.

Balearic nostalgia and futuristic electronics collide - Undo delivers two freshly squeezed cuts to amplify your summer season!

The website was a maze. Perilous black holes lurked behind every stray corner, the risk of deletion a destiny beneath the code. Here he felt at home, in the furthest corners of the web, his computer friends were with him now. Tucked away in the corner of his bedroom he began to laugh chaotically as the code flickered and flashed rampantly across his screen. How could a system of such strength be tampered with by such ease. He was the hacker amidst the midnight hour. The rest watched on. 

UNDO's "Disconnect" first emerged towards the tail end of 2016. Now Factor City return with an array of remixes from friends and associates.
