Vicknoise was the alter ego of Victor Palomo, also known as Shelby Grey (DJ, producer, and co-founder of Factor City Records alongside Undo). Producing and spinning, his imagination ran wild and limitless. Inspiration came from everywhere, from the roots of techno and electro, Chicago, Detroit, house, and disco, to soundtracks and avant-garde electronics. A true connoisseur.

Unfortunately, Victor left us in September 2024. This album is dedicated to his memory with a selection of some of his best tracks on Factor City. It includes an unreleased track with Sistema and two tracks with Undo that were only published on vinyl.

After ten years of shaping dance floors with his distinctive sound, Mexican producer Theus Mago unveils "MUN/SEA," his long awaited debut album. This milestone release marks a significant evolution for the project that began in 2014 amid the vibrant electronic music scene of Paris.

"MUN/SEA" represents a departure from Theus Mago's previously darker sonic palette, offering a more expansive journey through the artist's diverse influences. The album effortlessly navigates between genres—from the innocently exuberant "Do Androids Dream Of Dinosaurs?" to the pulsating energy of rave anthem "The F Train," seamlessly blending techy house rhythms with techno-infused indie dance moments.

Theus Mago & Thomass Jackson - 'Crank Crank (Club Mix)'

We welcome another stellar Spanish DJ and producer to the Club Mackan roster: Silicodisco. This time, we set our coordinates for Old Shanghai—a place out of time, blending echoes of the past with glimpses of the future. As always, we travel with good company: Bizzarro Universe and our own Marcus Christiansen are on board for remix duties.
Silicodisco guides us through two original tracks, ""Old Shanghai"" and ""Look Back Without Me,"" each offering a unique chapter of this nostalgic expedition. With mellow synths, driving basslines, and unmistakable 80s-inspired beats, these tracks transport us to a dimension somewhere between memory and imagination.
""Old Shanghai"" opens with voice-like, trance-gated synths that serve as the emotional core of the track. A dramatic midsection catapults us into the future with sharper, more aggressive synths, before gently bringing us back to where we started—a loop through time with purpose and precision.
""Look Back Without Me"" leans into a similar palette but follows a more introspective path. A soft chord progression carries the main theme, while restless arpeggios create a simmering tension, unresolved yet hypnotically beautiful.
Bizzarro Universe reworks ""Old Shanghai"" with a clear nod to the 90s: punchy 909 drums, a euro-inspired bassline, sharp chord stabs, and a generous splash of acid. It’s a real powerhouse.
Marcus Christiansen takes ""Look Back Without Me"" deeper into darker territory. By emphasizing the arpeggios and adding a gritty acid bassline, his version edges closer to electro, intensifying the track’s restlessness while giving plenty of release.

Ludmila Fuks lands on Calypso Records, the boundary-pushing imprint run by Iñigo Vontier and Thomas Jackson, with a conceptually rich and sonically daring release.


"A betrayal is an unexpected twist. A moment of schizophrenia where the world is turned upside down. We feel the curvature of the earth and it becomes explicit to us that there is something on the other side of our world that we didn't know. Or that we don't really know our world as we thought we did. It feels like a wobbling of the ground on which we tread, frantic, torn and passionate at the same time. But we can also betray ourselves. We betray ourselves by taking different paths that lead to places we did not think of. How does a betrayal sound, how does it feel, in what frequencies and energies does it vibrate?

Ultimately, what is there is always an unforeseen.
"Traiciones" plays with the idea of what we can feel when we feel betrayed, but also that the tracks themselves betray us, by taking different paths than expected, by changing the bpm in the middle of the track, or by promising a track that will never exist."

Madd Rod - Math Lab

Mexican label Duro Label is preparing for a new sonic journey with the return of one of its most cherished figures, Madrid's Álvaro Cabana. His new EP, "Indian Prototype", is an exploration of rhythms rooted in the wisdom of groove and the most influential sounds of the nineties and two thousands, without yielding an ounce to nostalgia.

Álvaro Cabana, an active figure in the Madrid electronic scene since the late '90s and owner of the Rotten City label (home to artists like Red Axes, Curses, Eden Burns, and DC Salas), delivers an EP that stands as a testament to his fidelity to his roots and his constant evolution.

The journey kicks off with "Proto", a track imbued with an early progressive essence. Deep basslines intertwine with expansive melodies and solid rhythms, creating psychedelic atmospheres that invite you into an introspective, mysterious, and energetic dance.

Following this is "Tipo", a subtle nod to Underworld. Here, acidic and resonant synthesizers take over the dancefloor, propelled by drums and rhythms designed to unleash euphoria. Lysergic vocals add a hypnotic layer, further immersing you in its danceable energy.

Finally, the EP culminates with "India In Us (UK Mix)", a powerful collaboration with his Argentine compadre residing in Bogotá, Julian Sanza (half of legendary projects like Silver City and 2020 Vision Soundsystem). This track is an ode to more "UK" and "two-thousands" sonorities, featuring booming basslines and frenetic melodies that invite total surrender on the dancefloor.

"Indian Prototype" is a statement of intent from Álvaro Cabana, a release crafted for DJs, diggers, and lovers of the rave sound.

In what was a definitive first year for the imprint, with two solid EPs from Petre Inspirescu and Vlad Caia, Pluie/Noir also endorsed numerous acclaimed Podcasts and served as the platform for various artistic endeavors embraced not only by their own artists but also by the world. To commemorate this achievement, and in a respectful manner to their long time collaborators, the imprint is now releasing a 12 track compilation spread across three 12”s showcasing the various sounds that personify the imprint and give their artists a well deserved voice.
The narrative to the compilation reflects the minimalistic musical template that is so dear to Pluie/Noir, where simple and complex structures meet along the way in the attempt of creating something that can last in time. Each track is a concise exploration of house music’s skeleton, leaving nothing to waste, but never feeling in slightest bit sterile. It’s surprising and unpredictable, but in an organized, artistic manner.
Three_Angle’s ‘Hor-Ma’ (A1) progresses subtly, shaped by soft bumps and clicks. It’s welcoming, cleverly paving the way for the rest the compilation to interact. The now familiar Radiq follows with a typically eccentric addition, ‘Goodbye South Goodbye’ (A2). Characterised by its splintered hybridization microhouse and ambient techno, it’s certainly a head turner. Pluie/Noir founder Cleymoore contributes with ‘Starpauseflash’, a sleek and delicate number that uses looped keys and syncopated percussion to create something thought provoking. ‘New Way’ by Ztrl (B2) follows in this vein, the funky, tripped-out pattering of percussion and dreamy keynotes are spread out across a remarkably stripped-back rhythmic blueprint. Vlad Caia’s ‘Subject 238’ (C1) represents the taste of Romania that has been so inspirational to Pluie/Noir. It’s simple, clean and devastatingly effective. Diogo’s delightfully named ‘Insecuriosity’ (C1) is an impudent tapestry of sounds, rich with idiosyncratic sampling and impulsivity, reminiscent of early micro-house. This evocation is carried over to Dr. Nojoke’s alluring ‘Awrani’ (D1), which again exposes its very delicate compositional layers by draining everything from its low-end. It’s a divine afterhours groove that ripples and shakes in all the right places. French-born & based Seuil changes gear with ‘Prelude’ (D2), which draws from the same diverse sonic palate as those before him on the compilation but works from a noticeably more solid 4/4 foundation. Albert Schwartz’s ‘11aa99’ (E1) introduces the compi- lation’s first use of vocals - the deep, soulful American lyrics work alchemically with the shuffling house beat. ‘An Apple a Day’ by Andres Marcos (E2) is another percussive session, but the experimental Pluie/Noir touches keep the piece alive. The penultimate ‘White Steps’ by Levat (F1) is a gorgeous slice of microhouse, lean and groovy, the vocal slivers adding a warm feeling to the mix, before the compilation closes with S.A.M’s ‘You’re Gonna Be Okay’ (F2), another outing of enigmatic, stripped-back house.
Presented in gatefold format - once again designed by man-of-the-house Max Binski, and painted in collaboration with Ayane - this highly collectable release reflects on a successful first year for Pluie/Noir while also signifying a very promising future. A canon of DJ delights on one hand, it’s also wonderfully applicable in the home setting, ensuring its practical longevity and status as a musical treasure for a long time to come.
