UKF Music Podcast #45 - Hybrid Minds

One of the most iconic album series in drum n bass is back, the fourth edition of Platinum Breakz has arrived and some are saying it is the best in the series. The album is largely made up of Drum n Bass’s best new players, with appearances from the labels first wave also appearing. The strength of the artists on the compilation says much about the healthy position Metalheadz is in right now and as an overall package the album is a perfect instalment in an iconic series.

A relative newcomer to Headz but no newcomer to the craft, Om Unit has in one way found his way back home as a student of early Metalheadz and then making his name within other genres. Timelines is a B-boy anthem of breaks, subs and bongos. Om Unit’s contributions to Headz have been very stand-out, just check the way Timelines moves from B-boy breaks anthem into dub soundsystem shaker- which indeed was a timeline for our very genre.
