"Slappy Void.When they asked me to write a paragraph or two about Slappy Void,initially I thought “Sure,no problem”…but how do you sum up Slappy fucking Void in a paragraph ot two?You could write a novel about the Void.Completely unique in approach and style.Nothing else could be so ebb and flow,limp and biscuit,yin and yang,corn and Korn. Miramax can go fuck themselves. They simply do not understand.The Void is how it is because that’s what it is.Nothing more and certainly nothing less.I mean,where do you think anyone has ever gotten the idea to do anything at all?Slappy fucking Void,that’s where.It’s not even anything at all,it’s fucking everything!Dry as a popcorn fart one second,then saturated like a pair of depends at D’youville Pavillion the next.I remember scrubbing floors at the Sabattus Street Can’t –A-Ford listening to the very first Slappy Void on a walkman,laughing hystericallynight after night.People looking at me like I’m the one that’s crazy.So what if I’m just one of those guys from Lewiston that gets on the news…big fucking deal!Slappy Void will do that to a person.It has an effect on you.It changes one’s perspective.Everything is really completely stupid,cupid.I’ve got a beard to trim;I’ve got a cross to bear.They don’t know me.They don’t know Slappy Void and they don’t know Nota!There’s immaturity in Slappy Void,a cocksureness that is more a foible of youth than of men who have experienced much in nearly a decade.It leads to excess,overindulgenece and a constant dancing in defiance of normality.As much in the same way that children defy parents,Slappy Void defies convention.And that,perhaps more than what they’ve accomplished musically,is what seperates them from anything you’ve ever heard.A boisterous,persistent rebelliousness for all to see!So what more can one say about the tenure of Slappy Void?Plenty,but time and space are simply limitations beyond my control.I think Jason Fogg said it best when he said”If you liked Slappy Void One,and you liked Slappy Void Two…and you liked Slappy Void Three…..than you’re going to like Slappy Void Four!”So sit back,adjust your undergarments and prepare to experience the psychoglamicpryoclastic cloud that is Slappy fucking Void.
