Premiere : Manoova Ft Dawn Tallman - I Need I Want [ORIGINS037]

Josh Butlers Origins Rcrds, drops the second EP from UK producer Manoova, which is a 3 track EP featuring the legendary vocalist Dawn Tallman, and fast rising UK vocalist Christy. 

Manoova's first release on Origins was at the turn of the year and garnered support by BBC One's Danny Howard, Kiss FM's Ben Malone and a host of other DJs such as Denney, Piem, Pasqualle Rotella from Insomniac and more, and since then, Manoova also had a release on Okain's new label Ball Park. 
 His second release on Origins features two vocal tracks the first being 'I Need I Want' which features the legendary vocalist Dawn Tallman who's collaborated with many well known producers such as Bob Sinclar, Dennis Ferrer, and DJ Spen. I Need I Want, is a elegant bass line driven house track with tripped out ambient chords giving space in the mix for Tallmans' exquisitely delivered vocals, creating an overall excellent vocal house cut that's guaranteed to get people moving. 

The second track on the EP is Dissolved Girl, a cover of Massive Attacks 1998 track of the same name off their chart topping album Mezzanine. For this cover, Manoova delivers a fresh and airy house groove and brings in Christy for a stunning performance of this classic track. This is truly an outstanding cover version.

The last track is a more minimal deep cut call Set The Beat and is the only instrumental track on the release. This is all about groove and arrangement, with subtle delicate production on the chords and the bassline driving the track, this has a definite summer feel to it.

Josh Butler has again signed amazing music from an up & coming artist and this EP is one that should not be overlooked.

Tapesh has been around the block a few times. Growing up in clubs owned by his father and having interest in all types of musical genres has made the multicultural German a true fanatic when it comes to play and produce music. He’s been making music since his teens and never stopped tweaking, improving and looking for new types of genres to produce. The same goes for his dj-ing.

Having released on labels such as Hot Creations, Mobilee, Defected, W&O street tracks, Noir and Suara one can easily tell the variety of musical styles Tapesh has interest in producing. Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Matthias Tanzmann and Anja Schneider, for example, are all fans of that special ‘Tapesh feeling’. That same feeling is what makes the man’s music so well loved.

2016 has already been a good year for Tapesh. He toured through Asia and Brazil in the beginning of this year, played all over Europe (including a b2b all-nighter with Loco Dice) and started his own label called Akulee. Furthermore Tapesh is in the middle of his 4th consecutive residency (4 shows) at United ANTS at Ushuaia.

James Solace, otherwise known as UK house stalwart, Burnski, delivers a bumper packed EP for Richy Ahmed’s Four Thirty Two imprint, inviting a host of remixers, namely Jansons, East End Dubs, and VONDA7, to the party! 

Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations label, Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, and Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound have already been platforms for Solace’s exquisite productions, and on ‘Setting Sun’ / ‘The Light’, we’re treated to more underground goodies from the British producer.

‘Setting Sun’ goes in with one of those Resse style basslines and a stammering melody that efficaciously unfurls to great effect, and has been one of the biggest and most requested tracks in Ahmed’s sets over the last couple of months, whilst the chugging pace of ‘The Light’ becomes intensified with an amalgam of arpeggiated synths, pad sweeps, and esoteric samples.

Jansons tackles ‘The Light’ with a breezy and warming remix, whilst East End Dubs carves out a swinging beats re-working of ‘Setting Sun’, which VONDA7 also injects some technocentric power into.

E.B.O present “I TOLD YA“ (OBLACK 007) Vinyl & Digital

Behind E.B.O´s misteryous initials are Sex Ed, B- NY and Odille Lima. Now as band with a powerfull live and well-made remixers, E.B.O consolidate their project through this new EP, published in Oblack Label. “I told ya” has a soft-house, pop & soul way in wich the rhythmic and electrical bassline with the warm and sexy Odille Lima´s voice provide elegance, authenticity and timeless to the track. His strange groove, between carnal and robotic, supported on velvety volcals became this track in a synthetic and deep oasis in contrast of many commercial tech-house and EDM. Finally… some good music!

The remixes of this new jewel of Oblack called “I told Ya” in EP format, are of Los Pastores, Pele & Shawnecy and Fabian Argomedo. The bucolic pair from Valencia (Los Pastores) take the track, approach it to them and inmerse it in a kind of slow and foggy far tour-mix. Sure that you dance it this summer at dusk!

On the other hand Pele & Shawnecy climb it to a tech-house field, to provide punch, rhythm and seriousness clubbing. They don’t minimize anything of the track, just make more powerfull and danceable with a view to end of afternoon and the beginning of special night.

Finally Fabian Argomedo custom the track´s house-pop skeleton, change the sound and throw it to the dancefloor. Now the track sounds distand, obscure, frisky… what a seductive and misteryous vocals! Like a snake when bites an apple in front of our own eyes.

Es que tras estas misteriosas siglas de E.B.O se parapetan Sex Ed, B-NY y Odille Lima y claro así pasa lo que pasa. Ahora como banda, con potente live y ascendiente remixero de pro, consolidan su apuesta a través de este ep, publicado a través del sello pastoril Oblack, en una suerte de pasaje de soft-house-soul-pop en el que el rítmico y electroso bassline y la voz sugerente, cálida y sexy de la gibraltareña Odille Lima lo reviste todo de clase, autenticidad y atemporalidad electrónica. Su extraño groove, ente carnal y robótico, apoyado sobre ese aterciopelamiento vocal provoca que este track sea un oasis sintético, deepero y sureño, entre tanto tech-house de hojalata y EDM de radiofórmula barata. ¡Al fin, música!

Los remixes de esta nueva joyita, en formato EP, de Oblack llamada “I told ya” viene firmados, nada más y nada menos, que por Los Pastores, Pele & Shawnecy y Fabian Argomedo. El bucólico dúo valenciano pilla el tema por la cintura, se lo pega al cuerpo y lo sumergen en una especie de Túrmix ralentizada y brumosa, llevándoselo a un elegante y cosmopolita redil ubicado en un lugar remoto en el que luce hasta el infinito y más allá. Lo bailarás este verano, al caer la tarde sobre tu melena rubia, fijo.

Por su parte Pele & Shawnecy lo suben hasta estancias más tech-houssies, dotándolo de pegada, ritmo y seriedad clubby. No le restan luz ni un gramo de atractivo al tema, solo lo potencian y animan de cara a una pista de baile en la que ya la tarde ha dejado de serlo para dar paso a una noche ciertamente prometedora.

Finalmente Fabian Argomedo customiza su esqueleto house-pop y tras pegarle un maqueo sonoro, desde dentro hacia fuera, lo arroja contra el dancefloor. Aquí suena esquivo, sibilino, juguetón… Recta seductora, ¡oh, qué extrañeza vocal!, como una serpiente para terminar de morder la manzana -¿o son dos cerezas-, ante nuestros propios ojos.

En fin, E.B.O, y más concretamente bella Odille Lima, después de este temazo, ya somos tuyos para siempre.
