Unearthed from the vaults of the North Pole, this “lost” disco/boogie record from 1977 finally sees the light of day. Elf Waves is a funky, glitter-soaked side project from the world of Christopher Kringle — a time when elves traded sleigh bells for sequins and rode the groove straight through Studio 54.

Thought forgotten for decades, the Lost Boogie Record captures the spirit of a hidden era: when the Kringle universe collided with the golden age of disco. Play it loud, dance like an elf, and relive the North Pole’s best-kept secret. This album will make more sense after Book #9 is released. There is a reason this album has never been seen by the public.


Boogie 'til You Drop (Don't Stop!)

Running a label is tough business, but for Jacques Renault, he found enough time for the studio and is set to release his debut album Zentrum this Friday. He and Nic Mercer run the Let’s Play House imprint, which was initially an offshoot of their raucous parties in Brooklyn. 

Renault has clearly drawn from those legendary house and disco nights and delivers a tasteful 11-track package. The album features collaborations with eight other producers, and he called on the Emperor Machine to add his analog prowess on “Touch You.” The track is marked by a chugging bassline, jacking drums and squelchy toplines that’ll be sure to ignite a smoky room.

28th of september will see on scottish label "Invisible Inc" the release of a limited edition 12″ featuring unreleased material/demos/rarities from the archives of mexicans "Los Hermanos Ponchos" / "Poncho Brothers" (1986-1991)hailing from Yucatan Peninsula !
Their music shows a unique, ahead of its time sound that’s almost "balearic" at one end and NYC "no wave" at the other….with a touch of latin disco and progressive psych-rock in the middle.
The EP features remastered versions of three originals plus a standout stripped down/funked up modern version of "Amantes Latinos" here by NY’s Zoovox duo, whose Lectric Sands label is definitely a winner. Enjoy this exclusive LYO stream & don't hesitate to share & comment !

Patrice Rushen – Never Gonna Give You Up (Joey Negro Re-Grooved Mix)
I procured the multi for this killer dance cut from Patrice’s “Posh” album over 5 years ago and completed the remix a while back but we couldn’t clear it for RWL 2 due to the rights to her music being in limbo while it was sold by Warner Brothers to German indie !K7. This is one of the more radical remixes on the album. In all other cases I base the new version around the original music, sometimes adding extra riffs or replaying bass or guitar. I tried that approach on “Never…” but it just wasn’t happening. I went back to it a few times but I didn’t seem to be able to come up with anything particularly interesting so I decided to go a different direction and attempt to change the music next time I had Kaidi Tatham in the studio playing keys. He did a great job with a groove that is a little like her classic “Number One” and though the chords are different we managed to make most of the original strings and brass work with them.

DJ Harvey is one of the most enigmatic people you could ever hope to meet. His "anything goes" approach to DJing, music and life has created some of the most out-of-sync, synergistic audio excursions and parties of the past 25 years. He has always stayed one step ahead by doing exactly what he wants, regardless of opinion, as an army of one, a cult leader for a last generation of pirates.

Harvey's critically acclaimed 'Locussolus' project is finally receiving its long-awaited reissue for the digital generation, in its expanded entirety, as the debut release on Harvey’s new imprint HGS. The self-titled album saw Harvey's imagination run wild — from the big room stormer named after the club 'Berghain', the twisted psychedelic minimalism of 'Gunship' and 'Little Boots', to the "Fleetwood Mac on Quaaludes" trip of 'Tan Sedan', the Electro-Funk of 'I Want It' and 'Next To You' which features guest vocals by Heidi Lawden. On its initial limited release, Locussolus saw support from disparate sources such as Andrew Weatherall, Carl Cox, James Holden, Lovefingers, Francois K, Tim Sweeney, Trevor Jackson, Rob Da Bank and Ivan Smaggahe. David Mancuso even proclaimed 'Next to You' a “Loft classic” and it was included on many of that year’s DJ and Record Store "best of" lists.

Included alongside the album’s original full track listing are the complete remixes, dubs and instrumental versions, many available for the first time. To coincide with the reissue, Beatport is also hosting a remix competition from which the winner’s track will be included on a forthcoming remix package alongside new remixes from London’s Kiwi and LA’s Lovefingers, Bears In Space and Warehouse Preservations Society.
