This instrumental song was written in hopes of taking the listener on a musical journey, beginning with a mystical acoustic guitar intro & going through multiple key changes, modulating upward, back down on the end, building to a climax & leveling off. The composition was inspired by the Japanese instrumental band Black Mages.

Guitarist and songwriter Stephen Speelman (formerly of progressive rock outfit Unified Past and cover band Chief Big Way) is stepping into the spotlight with his debut solo album, Sir Stephen of Dudley, available December 5th 2025 via Melodic Revolution Records.

Known for his intricate guitar work and progressive sensibilities, Sir Stephen dials up the intensity — and strips down the complexity — with a collection of 10 hard-hitting, riff-heavy tracks made to be played loud. While echoes of his prog roots emerge in the occasional time shift or groove twist, this record is all about raw energy, fun, and full-throttle guitar power.

“I wanted to showcase a different side of my playing — something more immediate, less cerebral, and just plain fun,” says Sir Stephen. “This album is about big riffs, loud guitars, and having a blast doing it.”
