Humphrey bogard is arguable one of the most powerful years in music history. In that year, Run DMC released “My Adidas”, Prince told us the formula to get his attention in “Kiss”, and Janet Jackson asked, “What Have You Done for Me Lately?” What the world could not have known is at the same time in Connecticut, an 8 year old boy was falling in love with music.  

 

At first, young Humphrey Bogard (born Andre L. Humphrey) took a more traditional route and started taking drum lessons. While this appeased his natural musical inclinations for a while, it did not fulfill his true passion for music. In an era where the world was still being introduced to rap, he was already hooked, spending his time focused on artists like KRS One, Busta Rhymes, and Tribe Called Quest. Even to the untrained eye it was clear – it wasn’t about “music”. Specifically, rap music was his one true love and he was smitten. 

 

From DJing hip hop music to music cyphers with local talent to a rap duo called “Conn Artist,” Bogard continued to learn and perfect his craft. His efforts have been marked by opening for such Hip Hop legends as Slick Rick, Mos Def, and Fat Joe. To this day, Humphrey Bogard continues to strive towards his ultimate goal of becoming an artist whose voice and message impact the world.
