Samuel Ernesto Burgos Martínez es contrabajista y compositor, nació el 5 de agosto de 1996 en Santiago de Cuba y vive actualmente en La Habana, Cuba. Graduado del Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) en la Habana. Ha participado en los más renombrados proyectos y con las principales personalidades de jazz de Cuba, tales como: (Harold Lopez-Nussa trio) (Roberto Fonseca trio) (Yasek Manzano) (Orlando Valle Maraca) (Cucurucho Valdés) (Roberto Carcasses y Salvaje´s Trio) (Ernán Lopez-Nussa) (Dayramir González)

Estuvo presente en el ¨International Jazz Day¨ del año 2017 celebrado en La Habana, en la semana del 24 -30 de abril, donde compartió escenario y recibió clases magistrales de grandes exponentes del jazz a nivel mundial, como: Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, Antonio Hart, Christian Sands, Esperanza Spaldings.

En enero del 2018 estuvo presente en la orquesta que acompaño al gran saxofonista de jazz Joe Lovano en el Teatro Nacional de Cuba por el marco del Festival Internacional Jazz Plaza (Habana).

También en 2018 participo en festivales internacionales como ¨Barcelona Jazz Festival¨, ¨Jazz en Tete¨ (Francia), ¨Mo Jazz¨ (Guyana) siendo parte del proyecto de Harold López- Nussa en ese tour estuvo en varios clubs importantes del ámbito jazzístico como la Sala Clamores de Madrid, Duc de Lombards de Paris, Le Spirale en Suiza.

En 2019 siendo parte del proyecto de Roberto Fonseca participo en el Festival de Jazz de Sudáfrica.

Participó con la cantante reconocida de Hip-Hop Danay Suarez en el ¨Festival Dance Hall Paradise¨ de Bogotá, Colombia.

Estuvo en el ¨Festival 5 Continents¨ de Suiza con ¨AfroJazz Quartet¨ de Yasek Manzano

Se presentó en ese año en el Festival ¨Rumba do Monde¨ festival celebrado en la ciudad de Perpignan Francia, donde estaban presentes exponentes del género flamenco como Miliu Calabauch, Mambo Saadna y una representación de músicos cubanos.

Samuel Burgos ha sido galardonado también con premios importantes dentro de Cuba como el 1er Premio como Solista en el Festival Jo-Jazz del año 2015 y con el 2do premio como compositor en el mismo festival, pero en el año 2016.

Ha colaborado con artistas importantes de otros géneros como Haydee Milanés cantante cubana exponente del bolero actual en la isla. Ha tocado con Kelvis Ochoa, cantante cubano ex integrante del reconocido grupo ¨Habana Abierta¨, formó parte de la Banda de Leoni Torres reconocido artista de géneros populares dentro de cuba y latinoamérica. Actualmente Samuel Burgos va a lanzar su primer disco en solitario llamado ¨Resurgir¨ un disco grabado puramente en vivo desde un estudio de grabación. Y colabora como compositor bajista y arreglista en el proyecto Equally, proyecto de Nujazz cubano.

I made this music with an Arturia Pigment synthesizer and vocal sound samples, interestingly I didn’t want that somehow at first, but it came out. Even now, I tried to create an enjoyable rhythmic music by mixing different styles.

Ortwin Wendt is the driving force behind the passionate, fun, and genre-free project that is United Duality. Based in Celle, Germany, Wendt leads with skilful guitar work and strength of songwriting. In addition though, he fills out every single with layers of instrumentation and colour – often self-crafted, often through collaborations with other vocalists and musicians; always to beautifully engaging and uplifting results. 

Despite a notably varied string of influences, United Duality makes music with clear links to and inspiration from the likes of The Beatles and other pop-rock creatives of the sixties and seventies. You can hear this approach across releases, even among such strong eclecticism – from the experimental rock soundscape of Purple Heron to the collaborative folk delicacy of See-Saw, there’s something enjoyably familiar about the United Duality sound; an admirable sense of identity runs throughout everything. 

In recent years, several original releases have made the airwaves of numerous independent radio stations. The unmistakable and historically rooted ‘Sexy Sadie Passed Away’ even made it to number one towards the end of 2018, over on ‘B.I.G. Indie Giant, South Africa’. 

Being naturally connected to this art form, and having already released an impressive level of new songs, Ortwin Wendt and his creative muse show no signs of slowing down. A full-length album has been released on 11th September – 13 original songs under the title ‘Enlightening Snapshots’. The project will take listeners on a journey through varied genres and life experiences, entertaining them yet also closing the gap between artist and audience – letting you build that understanding and connection that we so often turn to music for.
