Jetzt liefert der junge Produzenten-Heißsporn und Liveact sein Debütalbum ab. Es hört sich an wie ein lebendiges Klangwesen, das durch immer neue Entwicklungsstadien morpht und sich dabei auf organische Weise immer wieder neu und anders anhört. Deshalb wird es seinem Titel voll und ganz gerecht: Odyssey. Beschreibungen wie Melodic Techno oder Melodic House und ein Nicken in Richtung des harmonischen Wirkungsprinzips von Trance geben uns eine Idee, aber eben doch nur einen unvollständigen Eindruck. Wer das volle Erlebnis möchte, muss sich schon selbst auf diese epische Odyssey begeben!

3 QUESTIONS to KATE ZUBOK:

Q: Let's get into the mood for your mix. Why did you choose these tracks and what do they still mean to you today?

A: These were the first electronic tracks I had heard at an early age (4-6 y.o.) and got the most impressed from. To me they will always remain very special, as they are representing ageless, provocative and soulful, energizing and nostalgic sounds, which remind me my careless childhood.

Q: Do you still play some of those tracks in your DJ sets now?

A: Yes I do! And I love how the energy immediately rises when I play them. Music is like a time machine, it can bring you right back at the time when you first heard it. I also like to play old tracks because I was too young to rave on them when they came out.

Q: Which future Zubok projects are on the way?

A: I’m currently working on preparation for live performances and other new interesting projects. I’m also hoping to finally release my first video clip in the beginning of the new year, which I'm preparing already since a very long time.

▌I What’s your history with music in general and DJ-ing especially?
Mina and me (Dennis) were always very creative people, Mina used to to do a lot of dancing, especially hip-hop, in 2018 she discovered electronic music and began playing as a DJ in many clubs. I have produced and released countless tracks for me and also many other DJs/artists for years. When we met we immediately felt a special connection through a beautifully similiar perceiption of music we share. That was our starting point to say, ok we'll be doing music together.

▌II How would you describe your style?
We would describe our style in general as organic house, although we like to play a little faster than common artists in that genre. Also we fill in a lot of drum elements, to keep the groove going endlessly through our sets. We mix driving housebeats with organic elements, like chants, exotic instruments and others.

▌III Which tracks marks a highlight in your set?
Actually there's two highlights, that's "Birth Of A Tribe" and "Daylight" which are the two tracks of our upcoming EP "Birth Of A Tribe", which will be released on Get Physical Music this year, and we're very excited about that release!
