Unity has as its foundational Truth that there is only One, "One Presence and One Power". This teaching is rooted and grounded in the Principle of non-duality. There are many teachers and traditions that express this principle in ways that can serve to strengthen and expand our understanding of Unity and the practice of its principles. Non-duality is not a philosophy or a religion, it is the experience of no separation between me and the Universe; me and God.

What is everyone looking for? In a word: happiness. Of course, happiness is defined by each person in his or her own way. Some would call happiness security, while others would call it the perfect relationship or more money or freedom from suffering of one kind or another. Happiness may also be sought in spiritual experiences. We could go on nearly endlessly about the many ways happiness is pursued, including folks simply trying to avoid unhappiness. The one thing that the myriad pursuits of happiness have in common is that the search is for something, whether material or immaterial, not known or experienced as being present here now. A search of the Gospels will reveal many pointers Jesus offered that could resolve the experience of the apparent absence of happiness in our lives. Join us Sunday as we uncover some of the clues left for us in our pursuit of happiness.

We are continuing with a deeper dive into Unity’s Statement of Being that we affirm at the beginning of each Sunday’s service. This statement is not just another affirmation. It is a way to state the Principle from which all of our affirmations of Truth are derived.  Therefore, this statement is not an abstract concept or a philosophical idea, but the basis for harmonious and balanced living. Perhaps, even more than that, it is the guiding Principle to the realization of who we really are. Join us in this next step of spiritual discovery.

The One You Are: Part 2 (Rev. Bill Williams, 12/3/23)

The ordinary experience of life is filled with ups and downs, with light and shadows. The dynamics of life is perceived through our senses and we can often be challenged by what the senses reveal as our current reality. It can be very difficult to experience all of life as good. How, then, are we to experience and practice the concept of the omnipresence of Good as stated in Unity’s foundational principle. This principle can be summed up as “There is only One Presence, we are one with the One Presence, and that One Presence is Good.” Join us as we continue on this inner journey of discovery and realization.

The One You Are: Part 3 (Rev. Bill Williams, 12/10/23)

The Christmas season touches each of us uniquely. The ways we are touched range from exuberant Joy to deep quiet reverence. How we are touched by, and experience, the holidays (Holy Days) informs our understanding of the Christmas story. Embedded in each of the various symbols, characters, and events depicted in the narrative are gifts to be opened in our awareness. It is up to each of us to recognize the value of our particular gift and how it affects our journey of birthing the Christ awareness. A singular force that the opening of each gift reveals is Gratitude. As we grow spiritually, we begin to recognize that Gratitude is not an emotion we experience from a gift we get, but rather the power to transform any condition, situation, circumstance, or event into a gift. This power can be called “Gratitudinal Awareness”. Let’s open this powerful gift together.

Our regular 11:00 Sunday service will be transformed into our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service this year. Come and experience our unique version of Unity’s Candlelight Service in preparation for a joyous Christmas. The birth of Jesus as celebrated throughout Christendom points to the emergence of new Light in the heart of humanity. Each year we renew and grow our understanding of the impact this Light has in each individual’s spiritual journey. Unity’s founder, Charles Fillmore, shared his understanding of the qualities or powers in each of us to be realized or brought to Light as we awaken to our true nature, the Christ. This Sunday we will symbolically bring the Light to each of our primary spiritual powers as we celebrate our Candlelight Service. Join us in Holy Company as we celebrate this Christmas together.

You can experience our traditional New Year’s Eve Burning Bowl and White Stone Ceremony this year as part of the 11:00 service. Unity does not have many rituals, but these two ceremonies are wonderful activities to clear out the residue from the year that’s now coming to a close, and to help us open our minds and hearts for spiritual growth in the upcoming year. Join us Sunday morning and bring a friend to this once-a-year experience of resetting our intentions inward and upward.
