The experienced and talented artist Paul Thomas @djpaulthomas , comes to Univack for his first time, to present his 'Lumineux', an original track which is accompanied by one remix by Serious Dances and another one by Integral Bread.  Paul Thomas is one of the most important and influential people in the Progressive House scene for the last years, not only for his work as producer and Dj, but also for his work as owner in major labels like UV and UV Noir.  His style is very versatile, and we can find his productions in genres like Progressive House, Trance, Techno, Tech-House, among others, but this time with this 'Lumineux' we can discover his deepest and most organic house face.  The greek duet Serious Dancers @seriousdancers (Theofanis Rappas & Chrysanthos Kaslis) returns to Univack after the success of its 'Sabase Pahale', but this time as remixers, but also showing the particular and special style this duet has, where hypnotic melodies and vocals, sinuous rhythms, cinematic sounds and organic elements, are mixed to make you dance like in an ancient ritual.  Integral Bread @integralbread makes a peculiar remix of 'Lumineux', ussing a lot of original elements, but re-building them to get a different version, more Progressive, with his typical arps, hypnotic seqs, fat basses, and strong percusions. An artist with a steadily evolving body of work and ever-growing fanbase, Sebastian Sellarescontinues to chart a path to the upper echelons of the underground dance scene. Now making his Proportion debut, he delivers the twin-track "Renaissance" EP.
From his home in the foothills of the Sierras Chicas, Sebastian Sellares has witnessed an unstoppable rise to prominence. An accomplished guitarist from an early age with a particular focus on rock and metal, Sebastian was ultimately drawn to electronic music with a penchant forluscious melodies and deep rhythmic grooves. A regular across the clubs of his Córdoba home, a production career in tandem quickly shone a light on a complementary set of skills.
A plethora of high-class releases quickly followed with a century of tracks finding their way onto such esteemed imprints as Anjunadeep, Proton Music, GMJ and Matter's Meanwhile and Cid Inc.'s Replug, the latter in collaboration with fellow countryman, Ezequiel Arias. Thus, through a growing portfolio of original and remix production work, Sebastian has become a sought after and in-demand artist.
Now making a first appearance on Proportion, Sebastian Sellares delivers a twin-track EP of the highest calibre. Redolent in rich melodic tapestry and dynamic rhythms that have become a staple of his work, "Renaissance" is a glorious offering that lilts effortlessly via rolling groove and ticking hi-hats. A rumbling bassline sequence creates syncopated synergy as expertly placed and stereo-panned effects add to the dense atmosphere. Elegant melodies emerge into the second movement and breakdown as they tumble and cascade over each other in beautiful aural patterns. Hitting its stride once more in the second half, emotive string phrases and delicately pulsating synths add even greater depth in a track that finds the Argentinean at the height of his production powers.
Partner track, "The Blitz" immediately excites with its subtle bouncing bassline energy and ticking percussive groove. Immaculately placed synth phrasing provides dancefloor dynamism as a sweeping analogue synth line imprints itself on the listener's consciousness. Rising and falling with club-friendly ease, a cadenced synth line builds in energy, mirroring the bassline beneath before twinkling keys provide a moment of exquisite beauty. As the track drops back into its stride once more in the latter stages, bass prowess and melodic majesty combine in mesmerising fashion.
Taking the rebirth of modern progressive house to new heights, Sebastian Sellares is a true "Renaissance" artist.

PREMIERE: Sebastian Sellares - The Blitz (Original Mix) [PROPORTION]

Launching their Meanwhile Horizons imprint with suitable flair in August 2021 with “Beyond The Horizon”. Initially through a quartet of sparkling tracks, GMJ & Matter return to the series with a second edition. Seven new pieces now showcase the talents of established and newcomers alike within “Beyond The Horizon Volume 2”.

Fresh from his “We Are One” EP for Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden, Zankee Gulati opens the compilation with the atmospheric “The Magic Spoon”. Redolent in rolling percussive groove and thickly textured pads, a rippling arpeggio paves the way for a laconic lead synth to meander across the 9-minute piece, taking centre stage at the breakdown. Typically deep and brooding, Meanwhile regular, Imran Khan, highlights a raft of production magic within “Serenity”. Immaculately woven sonic patterns meander across the aptly named track as modulated pads and layered sequences mingle deliciously together. A heavy beat and regular off-beat percussion add to the trademark mesmerising vibe.

Following up on September 2022’s “Space Walk” EP, Covsky joins forces with newcomer, Frais, as the pair hit the ground running with “Sands of Time”. Full of emotion, a wonderful sub-bass groove creates a flawless foundation for a suite of elegant melodic layers to weave an imaginative sonic picture, reaching a rousing crescendo at the mid-point before bursting into life in the second half. A Horizons debutant, Federico Puentes, paints an evocative aural landscape as “Autumn Leaves” delivers a meticulous percussive framework within which smooth motifs and breathy vocal counterweight, flow in repeated patterns. Pausing for breath to let the melodic elements shine, the second half continues to paint the vivid melodic patterns of earlier movements.

Another Meanwhile first-timer with releases on Mango Alley, The Soundgarden and Keyfound, Billka makes a powerful impression with his delicate “Promises”. A repeated bassline and synth motif belies its simplicity as emotion is built midway via sublime vocal sequences. Coupled with deep kick and light percussive air, the track flourishes to a masterful sonic conclusion. UK producer, Fabreeka, has witnessed an impressive rise to prominence since a 2019 debut for Mistique Music, and his “Dream Path” is full of innovative motifs that blend together to create the perfect symbiotic whole. Through strong rhythm and rolling hi-hat groove, the track reaches its zenith in the third movement to striking effect.

The final track sees GMJ return to familiar ground with his Qiam alter-ego. Making his debut on “Beyond the Horizon”, “Light Recall” is a masterfully produced ambient piece that glistens with sonic stardust. Deliciously textured pads modulate across the left/right spectrum, while discordant analogue synth patterns play out in pitched delays before powerful bassline and vocal effects lift the track through its latter stages. Intelligently imagined, a raft of layers delivers intrigue and innovation in equal measure.
