Brooklyn label Razor-N-Tape is renowned for providing feel-good disco reworks. Having released over the past four years more than fifteen EPs by established names such as Late Nite Tuff Guy, Frank Booker and Chrissy, the imprint has managed to combine consistency and quality. Their latest release is no exception, with three top shelf edits by Glasgow record collector, DJ and producer Al Kent, who also runs Million Dollar Disco. Musically here... I just play what I feel and like, like many. Translating _it_ into the best sound I could do at the moment, hoping to let out some of grooves and vibes boiling my head constantly. Might be messy, bumpy, puzzling, but this is what it is. By design. Crystal Ripples continues my "Impressionism in Music" series. I love to induce and provoke, rather than impose. All for creative listening experience, so we collab, co-create.... Thank you.

Fender Stratocaster finger picking and (slightly) distorted basslines and twangs. Tones are using Line 6 hardware Pod XT. Post Line6 and IK Multimedia Amplitube.  Korg Synths, including Gadget tool Brussels, which solemnly soloing at 0:50. All synths sounds transitions achieved by playing physical knobs on my Arturia controller. All 37 lines of guitars, perc, synth total are assembled in Ableton Live 9 and mastered with IK Multimedia.

Inspired by aliens, UFO encounters and a fasicination with beyond light speed travel and the dilema in mathmatics can we go faster than light, on one hand the theory says no and the other it says yes but with a catch that says you would need an object bigger than the universe to move the smaller object across those vast distances or faster than light, so beyond light speed travel is possible and infinitely but we would need an object infinitely bigger to do it so and if light travels at 186,282 miles in 1 second which is nothing in an eternal sea of space you could in theory just keep going faster and faster forever so lets say 186,282 miles in 0.1 of a sec or faster 0.001, 0.0001 and so on with an uncanny similarity to computer code sequences we all are so familiar with when written 0.101010 Maybe this is how we work out how to go faster than light by combining the two like aliens do with symbiotic engines drawing on energy from the universe to emulate a giant infinate arm to move the object or is it all just a game let your imagination rock out in this original psychedelic dubby alternative electronic air guitar rock UFO alien encounter adventure featuring the very kool spoken word of Terrence Mckenna! Following the last D7's work, I recorded the major blues of A7 as "Summer Night Monologue 02". 
This time, I play a combination of mute playing and ordinary picking.It is a method of playing a guitar that engraves rhythm with mute playing style and simultaneously plays improvisation with a pick.Many great players around the world make use of this performance style.This playing method is also one of the basic rendition style of acoustic guitar like the previous work.I also noted how to mix Western scales and Blue Note scales  :)
Since A7 's blues is also a prototype of rock' n 'roll(also E7), I made it as a supplement to the D7 blues. I hope everyone will be helpful for using minor pentatonic in major blues. In playing the Blue Note Scale, it is important how to use the minor pentatonic plus alpha. If you are practicing guitar, let's master this basement by searching on the net on this occasion. For guitar players it is not so difficult.
However, it is finished a heavy sound than what I originally thought. It will be nice if you listen to it on a midsummer day when it gets sweaty. Please be careful about the volume when playing ;)

Great big thanks to Bitzone for reaching out and inspiring me to make music with him. He has been very patient with my process and generous with his creativity. He is a real cool guy and I am lucky to get to know him better. Lyrics and vocals only come out of me if the music's and my muses can make love with each other.

"Waves of Love"

I played at the piano again and again with the keyboard ...
Then, after a long time (3 months) I had this tune finished and arranged ...
I was glad when the piano melody to "Waves of Love" was finally finished  ...
Now I could start playing the strings ....
After listening to the song several times, I started to feel the melodies and I played the flutes, repeating until I was satisfied with the result.
After the flutes, the other instruments were added to the piano melody. These included the violins and the cello ...
It was a great pleasure for me to send it to Colin.

Waves of Love - Oliver Papke and Colin Powell

When Oliver first sent me his version of Waves of Love, he said he wanted it to become an EPIC New Age track, with lots of power. I added several harmony parts that add to the melody and then a bass guitar that comes in later to give some more bottom end.
Then, of course, there are those epic drums that Eva and Oliver (and me!) are so fond of! Plus cymbal crashes for extra epic-ness.
So, Oliver got his wish! A New Age Epic, which was also an epic to mix (26 tracks on my iPad!). But it was great fun to add to, mix and master this wonderful piece of music. We hope you like it too.

It's always amazing what you can come up with ...
This track only motivates us to go further with the music and create more musical compositions.
