Life moves at such a fast pace that it seems to pass us by before we can really enjoy it. However, it doesn’t have to be this way.

VLB52 is an evolution from Javier Marimon's sound, adapting to a new environment, rain, wet socks, whirling scapes and specially to the sensorial entropy around that our brains are constantly trying to freeze to avoid heavy computations. That is rather speeding up life, surprisingly. 

Javi tells us: “In this live recording, on Rytm, Octatrack and FXs exploring different weather's and now usual wild patterns coming from the forest, there is an intense sound walk around our area hoping you get a bit of that hectic calm life we are also trying to decode”. 

Let’s rebel against a frenetic lifestyle and slow down to enjoy life.

I have a massive backlog of music... so while I get up to speed on the EP releases, I figured I could share something from the practice lab.

This whole thing was recorded live, using the Machinedrum and Megacommand Live system (which greatly expands the live possibilities of the MD) recorded with my newly acquired Push(2). The MCL is also sequencing a Monomachine that does a bunch of stabs, pads and echoes. There are a few TR8S patterns sprinkled in there too, as well as a few tracks mixed in from other modular or push sessions. Can you spot which tracks ? =)

Really a test-session to see how I will organize and synchronize my recorder-trigs between the MD/MCL and Push/Live. As you can hear, a solution is yet to be implemented =P pattern repetitions that sometimes repeat at odd, un-expected times, sounds that overstay their welcome and then some... I like it. 

Raw and honest. Pretty much straight off the machinery in that moment, never to be repeated if not caught on tape... uhm.. bits?
