This replaces "sans.". Toriel, unsurprisingly, swaps with Sans, though it's not as clear cut as you think, as Toriel is also the final boss of the area while ASGORE is the Genocide final boss. However, the interactions with Toriel are largely analogous to those with Sans in Undertale.

And no, Toriel and Sans are still just friends. Toriel and Asgore are romantic partners.

I always found the Altertale set of swaps to be interesting, and am disappointed at how poorly they're executed in the original AU.
