Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the Swiss dj & producer Opuswerk (ＡＲＴＳ / Semantica Records).

Opuswerk’s reputation, once a well-kept secret behind the swiss mountains, is resonating beyond those peaks, from Berlin to Moscow or Seoul and Beijing. 
Either in the studio, solo or as HISS: 1292 (his collaborative project with Parisian François X), or behind the decks, he’s known for his ability to craft those very special moments wherelife finally makes sense. 
His sound, striking and poised, could be the soundtrack to the world thought by futuristic architects like Superstudio, Yona Friedmann or Zaha Hadid.
His solo and collaborative productions, released on labels such as ARTS, Krill Music or Dement3d (as HISS:1292), have earned a place into the finest djs bags, from Donato Dozzy to DVS1 or Peter van Hoesen to Anthony Parasole, Daniel Avery or Dr Rubinstein.
His dedication and love for music and gear make it so that he spends most of his time in the studio, exploring new sounds and techniques while crafting beats on the fly. 
Educated by dub and drum and bass, his approach to producing heavely relies on hands-on techniques, allowing him to collaborate with like minded producers like Ripperton for the Aelectricitae live project or in the studio with Nikita Zabelin.

Sounds From NoWhere Podcast #071 - Opuswerk

On the last episode of 2018 Pfirter welcomes Medellin based DJ and producer Daniel Restrepo aka Astronomical Telegram. His first releases appeared on labels such as Labyrinth, Reaktivate, Naked Index, with Ukranian producer Stanislav Tolkachev having remixed one of his works. In this mix, Daniel features 'Pride' his upcoming track on our third edition of the Mutable Minds series that is due out end of December. Hailing from Spain, Liños is a veteran in the scene who has been djing since the late ninities. A comitted vinyl enthusiast, he is responsible for the Archaic 
Twelve Inch podcast series.


At the beginning of the 90s he was curious about electronic music thanks to artists like Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre and Mike Olfield, but he really started to get interested in the mid-90s listening to Trance and Acid of the time (his first vinyl records), but little later he is strongly influenced by techno music, his style par excellence. Artists like Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills, Claude Young and Oscar Mulero have been the culprits of this influence that would mark him in his career.

In 1998, he buys his first vinyls, some of them strap-on and starts a path that fascinates him.
It gradually impregnates his sessions of a technique and great skill to the dishes that make it a benchmark in the Galician landscape.

Techno and vinyl are synonymous with life for him, not leaving anyone impassive to such an extent that it becomes his main passion. Anyone who has seen him live recognizes that, far from promotions, competitions and new technologies that facilitate the art of the new DJ, he fills his suitcase with vinyl and decorates his sessions with flourishes worthy of the greatest mixers.

He has had the good fortune to share a cabin with the greatest of the national and international scene by diverse points of the Spanish geography as well as by outside our borders.

In 2007 he was part along with De Oliveira, of Delirium Tremens, a very compact and avant-garde versus in which they combine live with dj set, with which they drew references on labels such as Mastertraxx, Naked Lunch or Infecta.

In 2013, together with Inopia, he created the 12-inch Galician collective, a family made up of vinyl-loving artists and the most analog sound.

He is currently responsible for the Archaic Podcast, a series of 12-inch recorded sets of different artists in which analog sound predominates, whether in the form of a dj set or live.

To this day he continues to collect acetates of different musical styles, especially from Bso de cine, which are his weakness.

Raroh, is a born and living in Warsaw producer and live-performer focused on the hypnotic, misty and intense techno side. His main musical goal is to tell an engaging story in which the listener can completely immerse and get lost. Under the influence of local events with electronic music, he began, at a young age, to discover new electronic sounds, rhythms and sounds, which resulted in his productions. In his music, Raroh talks about things that happened, in different places and at different times, creating new constellations and combining them into one, coherent story.

Raroh to urodzony i żyjący w Warszawie producent i live-performer skupiony na hipnotycznej, mglistej i intensywnej stronie techno. Jego głównym muzycznym celem jest opowiedzenie wciągającej historii, w której słuchacz może się zupełnie zanurzyć i zagubić. Pod wpływem lokalnych warszawskich imprez z muzyką elektroniczną, rozpoczął, w młodym wieku, odkrywanie nowych elektronicznych brzmień, rytmów i dźwięków, czego owocem są jego produkcje. Raroh w swojej muzyce mówi o rzeczach, które się wydarzyły, w różnych miejscach i różnym czasie, tworząc z nich nowe konstelacje i łącząc je w jedną, spójną opowieść.

Bio [English]:
As a Polish-born kid who grew up on Rock music and spent his youth playing in various bands, who loves clubs and parties but who nevertheless has always been looking for more than what the plain reign of the four-four time has to offer, Głós (pronounced [ɡwɔs] as in 'Gwos') is a producer and live-artist who adores to make people dance with his unapologetic and hypnotic Techno. His handcrafted music stands for the pursuit and documentation of adelomorphous moments in diurnal nights, precious snippets that elsewise dissolve back into nothingness.

Hailing from Berlin, Głós' music is known for connecting 'yesterday' and 'tomorrow' without leaving 'today' aside. Slowly pulsating, his music takes off as if resounding from a distance. It seems as if you've already left the club behind while the vibrant rhythms still linger in your mind. It's the resurrection of a long gone sound whose echo is still alive on the streets, haunting you.

Raroh is an artist focused on deep, foggy and also hard side of techno mixed with ambient and experimental electronic music. Under the influence of Warsaw's local parties, at a young age he began to discover new electronic rhythms and sounds, what resulted in his productions.

December last year he released his first 12'' vinyl split record with Głós on Unknown Timeline Records called "The Perfect Moment In Time-Space Continuum". He also contributed to the One Instrument series with a dark ambient track, which was digitally released last year.

Two month ago his two tracks appeared on "The Book Of Electronic Music" - tape release on Delayed Arrivals Records.

Closing the chapter that 'Music For Sleepovers' and 'Music For The Morning After' opened, this mix gives an insight into what kind of music @prayforglos got inspired by while creating last year's aforementioned two Ambient albums.

Presented in the form of a fake radio show, the selection of personal R'n'B favourites might look odd at first glance; those with an open mind though will recognise the similarity in atmosphere and will be given an insight into how music from a seemingly devoid genre can influence another one.

"I honestly don't remember how I got into this kind of music. Some YouTube algorithm sorcery might have lead to this and if anyone would have told me I'd one day be into R'n'B  when I was still into Rock, I would have told them to fuck off. But you know what I like about it? The same thing that I like about novels by Charles Bukowski and Henry Miller: they're brutally honest."

John Cage once said, he liked beautiful melodies telling him terrible things. "It's the same way with these songs", @prayforglos explains, "you have those soft, beautiful voices singing about the most terrible things. It's highly sexual, lyrically often abusive and very dark. And the protagonists don't dress in black robes for show like Goth and Metal dudes do, they dress in high fashion. I feel a specific fascination for the dark and ugly with this, if you know what I mean. But there's also a lot of acknoledgment for guilt underneath the surface. It's complex."

Further devotion to R'n'B are less likely for @prayforglos, though. "I'm an Electronic music artist. This was an interesting excursion, but it mainly served as some sort of background check. I'm really proud of 'Music For Sleepovers' and 'Music For The Morning After' as a double-pack and wanted to give a little more insight on where it's coming from. But this chapter is now closed."
