I heard this song this morning and knew I HAD to remix it, Princess Rizu makes some great songs and their strongest point is the lyrics! She's really fantastic at lyrical mastery and I'm sad I couldn't figure out how to balance my instrumentals and her vocals... ah well! She deserved some kind of remix :P Enjoy!

This is the demo for Mr. Greg from the Steven Universe episode, Mr. Greg!

I love old timey, vaudeville-y schtick.  And Greg spending big bucks at a fancy big city hotel had old timey schtick written all over it.  While writing the outline for Mr. Greg, I came up with the first half of this tune and pitched it a cappella to the group.  It felt very silly, but it must have amused everyone enough to stay in the picture.

We started making a demo.  I had the beginnings of a bass line and the percussion, and Jeff came in and made it an actual song with some great jazzy chords and an insane guitar solo, which I'm pretty sure he just improvised.

Like I said before, the song was originally only the first verse and the instrumental.  In the outline, Greg, gets so caught up in the spirit of the music that he asks Pearl to dance, and that's when she pulls away - showing that Greg and Pearl have a long way to go.

We showed the demo to Joe, and I believe he was the one who said this needs a second verse.  And together we wrote a second verse, with Pearl singing, that incorporated those story beats into the lyrics.
