Devil Dancers is a 20 track storytelling compilation of experimental minimal wave and punk electronics.The title is a tribute to one of our favourite tracks by Oppenheimer Analysis (OA - Andy Oppenheimer and Martin Lloyd) that was originally self-released in 1982 on a cassette entitled "New Mexico" recorded at the height of the Cold War and home-taping boom. 

A deep exploration through experimental and industrial fields featuring a lot of new and well known faces: Devil Dancers goes further in the label references, while Alan Harman, Panoptique, Helen Island (Violent Quand on Aime) and Le Matin show that the future is also bright for minimal synth. 

Experimental music by Bound by Endogamy, Religius Order, Legion 808 and LostSoundBytes to set what is cool in industrial music.-

Description:
Following the experimental streak thrown down by our two released albums, Modal Analysis proudly presents Het Zweet – Archives Volume 1: 1982-1988, a compilation of the Dutch outsider legend painstakingly picked from over 100 hours of unheard tape. An early electronic pioneer who employed homemade percussion, wind, and string instruments alongside a few more modern pieces, mainly a Korg MS-10 and the tape recorder he used as his primary composition tool, Marien Van Oers occupies a lonely branch on the tree of this music’s early efforts. In sixteen pieces ranging from only seconds to well over ten minutes, we explore the full breadth of his accomplishments, from familiar pounding industrial grooves with vocals to ambient fragments and into extended, entrancing efforts bridging this gap but finding few parallels.

Most closely akin to Muslimgauze, Test Dept. or Fad Gadget, all musicians who shared his outsider practice while remaining thoroughly immersed in contemporary sounds that paralleled their own work, Het Zweet is striking for the diversity of his sound and for its meticulous composition, formed of carefully arranged layers of sonic detritus culled from his collection of homemade instrumentation and electronic distortions. Also included is a live document from February 1984 in his hometown of Breda, Holland, whose sparse crowd noise and raw phonics tell all too well the difficulties of his music then as now. Finally rising to greater exposure since his death in 2013 alongside similarly minded, now-departed contemporaries like Byrn Jones, whose works also prominently appeared on the Staalplaat label/zine, 2022 marked the high point thus far of Van Oers’ reevaluation. Modal Analysis passionately continues this mission with our first volume of archives dedicated to the memory of this bold innovator gone before his time.

Following up on 2022's "Allegories", Insurgency continues its music curation series with "Crimes of the 20th Century". The compilation explores untraditional portrayals of violence and examines relations between industrial music and perceptions of cruelty. The label and its invited musicians intend to oppose the weaponized usage of music by extremist groups; instead, "Crimes of the 20th Century" invites listeners to reflect on collective responsibility for modern atrocity — as it is exhibited by a roster of contemporary experimental artists — within historical and psychological contexts.

bijū arose from the need to explore the intersection of machine and body. The need to blur the boundaries between dehumanized electronic sound and the natural environment. Its selection is a constant search between minimalist and dense, dynamic and slow, sharp and blurry sounds.
The album presents strength of vision in artist's style and that is aesthetics of dystopian future, where slow motion martial marches meet ghostly rituals, cleverly blended with synth melancholy enriched by echoes of psychedelia and industrial rawness. An attempt to reach the undefined emotions between commotion and anger, sublimity and thrill, which, along with grief and hatred were brought by the war in his homeland in Ukraine.
As part of the Warsaw based Ukrainian collective SUMISH wants to strengthen interactions between people through synergies, exchange of vision and knowledge, building bridges between the migrant community and local society through the different creative disciplines. Author of the program Gnostic Methods, dedicated to slow-rolling and experimental electronic music - every month on Radio Kapitał.

Hambourg’s electro duo Fallbeil composed by Wosto and Kluentah, is still pretty unknown despite they’ve been releasing a bunch of EP and a couple of LP on label like Mannequin, Killekill sub-label Boidae or New York Haunted and more recently on their own label Teerpappe to name a few. Wosto, long time Macadam Mambo’s collaborater (Danzas Electricas vol. 2 & 3), sent us demos of what sounds very like « what Drexciya would realease on Bunker Records », a compilation of irresistible dark atmospheres slow electro tunes with very raw textures, complemented by few little skits to generate a brilliant album around the story of the Mockturtle. It’s rought as it should be!

Dark Entries’ resident scuzzmasters De-Bons-en-Pierre return with the Card Short of a Full Deck EP, featuring six tracks of their signature sludge. In 2016, Beau Wanzer and Maoupa Mazzochetti fused forces in order to infect the world with their mutant analog strain, a noxious hybrid of 80’s DIY cassette electronics and 90’s Birmingham techno. Card Short of a Full Deck follows 2017’s Crepes EP and 2019’s EP No. 1 and EP No. 2, all released via Dark Entries. Their latest salvo features six tracks composed for a live performance in 2019. While a damaged sense of whimsy has pervaded their previous work, Card Short sees the duo ramping up the absurdity to obscene levels. Skittering rhythms dance over ghoulish basslines and haunting, rave-evocative chords on cuts “Le Râle du Mâle Alpha” and “Puddle Points”. Elsewhere, like on “Card Short of a Full Deck” and “Accidental Surgeries”, contorted vocals battle careening synths amidst post-apocalyptic waste. This deck’s not just short, it’s also full of jokers The sleeve for Card Short of a Full Deck was designed by Eloise Leigh, and features a punk zine xerox aesthetic with playing card motifs.
