Luca Venezia, AKA Curses has spent the past year moonlighting as a DJ, Producer and a label owner for Ombra International, an imprint which focuses on left of centre analogue techno with a live edge specializing in Cold Wave with a slight hint of Goth. 
The latest offering is an EP from the Postmodernism Forms, an act based between Bogota Columbia and Berlin, Germany.
A track which channels the Cure as much as it does electronic music. The second track on the B side, 'Never Forget that You're Alive' boasts a live bass, distant sounding spoken word vocals which hypnotizes as well as creates the urge to dance. (difficult not to when closing in on 135 bpm) Dark and distant but always close enough for you to remember that you are alive.

Iñigo Vontier, Roman & Castro - Ciudad Maldita


Something really great is happening South of the US Border and some of that magic is presented in this release by Roam Recordings alumi Iñigo Vontier as he partners with Roman & Castro to present the Ciudad Maldita EP. Mexico meets Chile in this excellent collaboration to bring three sophisticated floor bangers together into one EP. Sau Sau starts the release out with a wicked groove, vocal stabs, and elegant percussion. Smog moves a bit further into techno territory with its driving bass stabs underpinning a dizzying spattering of electronics woven to accentuate the hypnotic rhythm. Callejón offers a bit more left feild vibes with its electro beat under synth infused soundscapes.

Rounding out the EP is an excellent dark and pretty remix from the master Timothy J Fairplay who brings old school vibes with a lofi acid motif. 

The Ciudad Maldita EP fits the Roam Recordings moto quite nicely with these four accomplished artists pushing things into left field while keeping true to discerning dance floor.
