​Romanian duo Livio & Roby supply their standout track ‘Tidal Reshape’ to Vakant’s ‘Tenacity’ compilation.

Showcasing the somewhat minimal, yet driving sound that’s been coming strong out of their native country’s underground scene, Livio & Roby fire off a mesmerizing display of rhythm and sophistication.

Ahead of the compilation’s release, Livio & Roby touched on what inspires them in the studio: “We find influence and inspiration in many forms, sometimes it can be the consequence of a freshly read book, a new movie or classical/jazz concert, new experiences, our friends and family also inspire us in many ways… One time we moved our studio gear to a mountainside in Romania and we started to create. We find sometimes it's necessary to move from your main space to have some fresh air and ideas. That's how we made ‘Tidal Reshape’”.

Composed of ten tracks, the ‘Tenacity’ compilation also features music from Alex Smoke, Sons Of Tiki, Anonym, Tolga Fidan, Nico Purman and Non-Operational People.

The ‘Tenacity’​ compilation is released on April 3.

Livio＆Robyとしては、DrummaからのリリースとCesare Desorderのリミックスを彼らのレーベルからリリースする。また、"We r the sound"というトラックを僕たちの新しいレーベル「Tier」から、Prikuのリミックスを加えてリリースする準備が出来ているよ。 さらにリリースは続くよ！

A clean cut extract from Priku’s set at Duo N.1, this past September in the depths of Casa Quien, a sixteenth century house in the Dominican Republic, currently an art space dedicated to the development of contemporary productions. Local promoters Duo invited Priku and Arapu for an extended 12-hour party within this amazing setting. 
The Romanian artist without fail always delivers a unique blend of grooves, however this isn’t your average mix. Something very special, as it differs from the norm. A chunk from a set played out to an audience tells a completely different story, it gives you an idea of the surroundings it’s taken from and the true versatility of the mixer, something personal. Adrian takes you on a journey of tastes, hypnotic rhythms with no boundaries, allowing the listener to become totally involved. Smooth and slick as each record combined creates a whole new atmosphere.

Vinyl Speed Adjust impressive discography boasts appearances on Pressure Traxx, Visionquest and Jesus Loved You, to name a few. 

Having garnered early support from the likes of Petre Inspirescu, Barac, Valentino Kanzyani and Priku, Reflections EP is the third outing on the pairs vinyl-only label and exemplary of their intricate production style, crafted using a custom-built analogue rack. We Do Not Belong Here embodies Vinyl Speed Adjust signature minimal groove from start to finish, incorporating elaborate percussion, murky synths and echoing effects. On the flip, Reflections provides an enchanting contrast with its low-slung groove and twisted melodies for a serene aesthetic that extends over 10 minutes.

As the list of his achievements is sure to grow longer in the coming years, it was due time for Maksim to get Under The MEOKO Microscope, with an interview that sees him talking Russian clubbing, edits, and… Spice Girls. And to soundtrack the read, Maksim offered one of his own favourite creations as a MEOKO exclusive. Nope, it’s no Spice Girls edit — we’re still hoping to ever hear this one — but this rendition of Chinawoman’s “Party Girl”’s got the languid groove that’s steadily becoming Maksim’s calling card all over it.

Romanian artists Livio & Roby are one of the most consistent DJ duos in minimal. As two-thirds of live act Premiesku, they are they are known as 'proper heads', who masterfully work tribal, twisted house music out of hardware for a living.

Thanks to the consistently high quality of their output, Livio & Roby have been in constant demand around the globe, sharing the spirit of Romania with the clientele of clubs and festivals across North and South America, Europe and further afield. Their endless travels continue, as does their endless work in the studio.

The Romanian duos latest EP is another 9-minute masterclass. Released on KUSI Records, Livio & Roby deliver two high-quality cuts. A-side 'Ta Katana' meanders and weaves into life. Dreamy soundscapes combine with hazy synths, making it perfect for the early morning after-hours. B-side 'Roslis' has much more of a main-room club feel to it, bubbly synths combine with a naughty grinding bassline.

It is clear how much music has an important role in the life of Julien, who, however, had to get busy, and not a little, to realize his ambitions.
Growing up on the outskirts of his city, Julien started very young, in his room with two battered turntables and boxes of discs.
Then came the performances in small clubs of his city and the first floor acclamation that appreciated the elegant and original musical research that already characterized his dj set.
The sound of this phase was well represented from house of Derrick Carter, of MAW, of Paul Johnson & David Duriez.
The approach to the Parisian underground scene and the desire of a more personal and sought style stimulated his interest in more complex and intriguing sounds that shaped the sound of the artists of French label Freak 'n' Chic and micro-house electronic of Romanian scene and of the German label Perlon.
This veritable "musical epiphany" has definitely represented a turning point in the musical journey of Julien who at that time started with the activity of producer.
In a few years it has carved out a significant role and highly respected in the complex and difficult world of electronic music with its sought after DJ set in around Europe, during which he also shared the console with important figures of the environment among the such as Zip, Raresh, Margaret Dygas, Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom, Cesar Merveille and his productions with which he was able to work with some of the most important labels in the industry and have always received great support from top international DJs.
In 2015 he opened with his friends and partners Konstress , the label only vinyl Blind Box that already has become in a few months a true derives "cult" label for fans of the genre and whose release are easily found in bag of Ricardo Villalobos, Arpiar and Zip.
Julien's music search is unceasing and constantly changing and determined to make his style more original and intriguing for the listener of his sets and his productions.
