Quadrant Soundscape are a Manchester Based duo comprising of Tommy Harrison (Asphalt Layer) & Wilson Logan.

After inviting Wilson to join his collective - DuskDubs, the pair’s love for Dub , Dub Techno , House music and Ambient sounds began to flourish.

Both of these selectors have a wide range of music in their arsenal and you can expect to hear plenty of genre jumping, as well as tracks from lesser known artists and labels, in their sets.

For this years spring´s edition of the Lab Experience podcast series Audio Werner (Hartchef, Perlon) took a deep dive into his record shelves and created a special seasonal blend of Vinyl only. This is definitely not a dedicated club mix rather than an audible illustration of springtime slowly taking over from cold and dark winter. Starting with atmospheric ambient sounds, warm rhodes & loose soundscapes the journey continues to more rhythmical environments as springtime progresses. If you expect the usual Audio Werner you know from his DJ sets or productions get ready for a completely new experience – it´s all broken beats and you won´t find any 4 to the floor bassdrum here at all. One of the best aspects of music is its ability to connect people from all corners of the globe. Our next guest comes from Australia, a place which isn't always known for its music but indeed has a thriving underground scene thanks to the hard work of locals. Magda Bytnerowicz is one of these special few who have helped build up the musical landscape around her both as a promoter and as a DJ. Her inspired and dream-like sets have been known to sweep the audience away to a place of pure ecstatic joy. It is exactly this keen ear for atmosphere and deep understanding of musical sequence that has made her a perfect pick for UNRUSH. So relinquish yourself in these impressions of the southern hemisphere with this impeccable mix.

A few words from Magda about the story of her mix:

My young son is an early riser and he went through a phase of waking just before 5am for a few months. It's such a strange time of the morning - somehow 4:45am feels very different to 5:15am if you have a whole day ahead of you. It's still dark, and too early for breakfast and coffee and getting ready for the day, but somehow, we're awake and have to fill the time. This mix is the sort of music I would play in that eerie hour and a bit while we waited for the sun to come up and the day to begin - not really truly 'ambient' as it needed to be a little more active, and feel as though time is moving forward. Also, a little bit of an Australian digi dub focus came out of it too, old and new.

A good friend, resident DJ, label boss and founder of The Bunker NY, Bryan Kasenic doesn't usually need an introduction. We'd long seen his sorcery at the helm of the controls at numerous local gatherings, working dance floors with the precision only one with a few decades doing it could, what we'd yet to see was what he'd do on the 'ambient dance floor' i.e. Hypnotic Spa at Nowadays. Herein 96 minutes and 12 seconds attests to that query.  We had our eyes closed as we lied in the dark and dreamt sweet dreams. We recommend doing the same. Track list below. Enjoy the trip!

After the whirlwind of Summer forced us to take a brief pause, Unrush has returned to ease us into the quiet once again with a schedule packed full of subdued sonics. First up is our latest team member Irakli, who needs no introduction for those embedded within the music scene. Founder of the STAUB events in Berlin and a member of the now-defunct I/Y project, Irakli has been a key figure in the underground for years as a DJ, producer and impeccably skilled designer. Recently he has started working with talented and underappreciated artists from his home country of Georgia, giving them a platform to release, experiment and perform with his Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound imprint. His own sound gleefully defies definition, bending the limits of reality to succumb to his emotive universe. As he has been a part of the Unrush team for some time, we found it only natural to have him bless our ears with an hour of his musical musings...

Bubble Tension

U N R U S H is an experiment in sound, a crystalline vision of eternal pause. Through our record label, podcasts, interviews, and event series we focus on presenting a diverse array of alluring ambient music. With each guest contribution we search for a serene space within the mind that is free from the encumbering stresses of daily life. Our events will act as a platform for distinguished artists and take place in stunning cultural surroundings both in the city and in nature, taking a step away from the pounding hedonism of the club to showcase the other side of electronic music.
