"Fog", a study in suspended erosion.

Built from the same elements as “Murk” (https://soundcloud.com/subespai/murk), this piece introduces new details to move away from some of its more inaccessible traits, while pushing further into the decompositional framework I’ve been developing.

Rather than traditional stasis, "Fog" holds in a state of tension and drift, where nothing resolves and nothing rebuilds. It reflects on the dystopian present as a moment after collapse, haunted by futures that now feel irretrievable.

Berlin-based French DJ Laura BCR has been steadily making her mark in the contemporary electronic music scene in recent times, with firm feet in the scene via her various endeavours such as her now defunct, but highly revered and remembered, Bass Cadet Records shop in Berlin where she takes her name from. 

Recent times have seen BCR snap up a residency at Het Magazijn club in The Hague, Netherlands as well as further bookings across the globe at hotspots in the Far East  as well as appearances at many other leading nightclubs such as Tresor, ://about blank, Concrete, Moog and more. Amongst this Laura’s fledgling On Board Music label, born out of her agency of the same name, has already gained recognition from many influential figures and platforms, yet another telling sign of her knowledge and ability to curate and connect the sounds that surround her.

Today’s podcast is delivered by Alfonso Pomeda aka F-on. It is 2 years already when we heard him for the first time on the second annual edition of Parallel festival in Spanish Pyrenees. We couldn’t imagine a better spent afternoon with the deep downtempo and dub-infused vinyl set that he performed. This mix which was recorded exclusively for our series carries very similar mood and reminds us the remarkable time we had there. 
What is for sure worth to follow is his label Alpenglühen. This relatively new project adheres to the downtempo concept and offers slower music, that can be delighted without a rush. Alpenglühen003 by Vand coming soon!

Samuel　

Samuel, born in Amsterdam, but currently based in Antwerp has been involved in the techno scene for several years. The Dutch DJ joined Monument first as a writer in 2017, which he was eager to do due to his increased passion for techno and ambient music over the years. Not much later he also picked up the mantle of MNMT’s head of podcast. Sam performed his very first DJ gig In June of 2019 at MNMT Festival, with a 2-hour melancholic ambient mix as the opening of the final day of the festival, to which he was overwhelmed with all the positive feedback. This gig motivated him to focus more and more on his development as a DJ. Having been involved with the scene for several years, Sam is focussing more and more on his own DJing and is honoured to have been invited to make Undulate’s first podcast mix

While some artists work towards advancing their egos, others function more as a backbone, supporting music culture and giving it a foundation to grow. Our next guest, Sabine Hoffman, is most certainly the latter mentioned. With an infectious passion for vinyl and an immense musical knowledge that encompasses all subsections, she has been enchanting listeners and building support systems in her hometown of Berlin for years. Her event series "Frauengedeck" spotlights the female and non-cis talent around her and provides a platform to lesser-known artists. Whether you see her in her element in many of the renowned clubs in Berlin or working behind the counter of OYE record store in Neukölln, Sabine is sure to greet you with a smile and some seriously good records. We are very glad to host for this new episode of our mix series, one of our favorite DJs and very good friend Alfonso Pomeda aka @f-ondj . As a true figure and one of the most active persons we ever met, F-on is a model when it comes to knowledge and passion in electronic music.  Alfonso has been running for a few years one of our favorite record stores in Madrid that has turned to an online store only since a year. He is also behind a couple of labels such as Antimatter or Alpenglühen. He has founded a new series of parties called @calmamadrid with his close friends dedicated to develop listening sessions of Ambient music in the Spanish capital.
As a regular at Paral-lel Festival (hope you didn’t miss his latest set for their online edition a couple of weeks ago) or at clubs in Spain or abroad, Alfonso is well known for his long downtempo journeys which can also be very intense. 

Some good news, he is releasing very soon an EP together with Kawn on Antimatter. 

He delivered for our mix series a 3:20 of experimental, ambient and dark progressions and we are really fond of it. Thank you Alfonso <3

One of the great powers music has is to synchronize our senses with a specific place, time, and feeling. Anja Zaube utilizes this aspect well, whether it be through her blissfully cathartic DJ sets or her intentional and well-executed live sets. Here we are presented with the latter,  an excursion into the depths of Anja's personal sonic universe that brings us into the elements and out of the body. Layered with thickets of field recordings, live synth work, and delicately pulsating percussion, it plays as one long-form piece that gradually shifts and seduces the mind. With close ties to ://about blank and the Berlin underground, Anja channels a certain mystique and sound that is characteristic of all that goes on here. O-Ma is a live artist and track maker from Japan. His music has no conventional musical background and cover a wide range of genres from techno, ambient to experimental, jungle and IDM. He performs regularly in Japan and overseas, taking his modular rack with him whenever he goes. He is also a member of MNMT (Monument) as correspondent.

Bun Saito (Terraforming / Pandora) Bun Saito has been active as a house and techno DJ since 2000. He spent 6 months in England in 2012 for intensive DJ study, where he participated in local squat raves and was baptized in the underground rave culture. After returning to Tokyo, he continued his development as a hardcore DJ, experimenting with drum and bass and jungle styles. He currently interacts with a wide variety of artists in the Japanese underground scene. Bun is constantly fine-tuning his home sound system to push the functionality of dance tracks to their limit and experiments with ambient noise and environmental sounds while delivering top-notch tunes that pack the dance floor.
