Welcoming this vibrant duo to Afterlife, Yotto & Stephan Jolk.
This is Stephan's fourth appearance on the label in less than a year, but the first
collaboration with Yotto. With distinctive but synergic sounds, both artists are renowned for their ability to imbue their music with rich musicality and captivating rhythms. On 'New Era’ we are invited to join an odyssey into the infinite field of consciousness. The title track has the typical Yotto rippling rhythm that gallops along while drawing you into its orbit, whereas a melodramatic signature Stephan Jolk riff infiltrates your heart centre. On the flip ‘Only One’ takes a
more unassuming approach, the sombre tones complemented by the main melody which is melancholic, but at the same time uplifting. Dance music with pure soul at its core.

Bursting into 2021 with the hope and positive energy we all need, Spectrum present an absolute juggernaut of a track...

Blinding by name. Blinding by nature. Fresh from major missives on the likes of Crosstown Rebels, Circus, Saved and Relief and heavyweight collaborations with the likes of Pete Tong, Alex Kennon makes his debut on Joris Voorn's Spectrum with this rolling juggernaut anthem that joins the dots between the 2000s and 2020s, house and techno, clubs and festivals and all shades of lockdown jadedness in between. It's his most personal release to date, and one that has already found favour with Kolsch, who made an early version a regular set favourite.

''Blinding Lights' is for me not just a record, it's a melting pot of emotions through music, a kind of time machine taking me from the early 2000's to today. I was overjoyed when Joris said he wanted the track for his own label Spectrum. His remix and take on the track will make this project very special, an intimate perspective from a great artist and musician like himself combined with a track I am very proud of.'

An inspired slab of emotional electronic music that nods in all directions and comes with that great sense of momentum and surprise, both Alex's original and Joris's remix hit spots we forgot existed. Lighter times are coming and music like this will be our soundtrack.

Moonstruck breaks and stripped-down bridges are counterpointing teasing drum rolls and a very straightforward arrangement, evoking the listener's distant, dreamlike memory of arriving too late for something which hasn't yet actually happened - a story that Blindsmyth (@blindsmyth) is not too shy to croon about, using his signature blend of poetic language combined with his angelic voice.

Cubicolor’s third album ‘Sometime Not Now’ gets his final reworks from 16BL, Colyn and Mita Gami. 

The UK/Dutch trio, Cubicolor, has firmly established itself as one of the most recognised acts in the electronic music scene. Their third album, ‘Sometime Not Now’ released October last year has garnered praise not only from their fellow artists and producers but also received a notable review in Clash Magazine.

The album now gets three more exciting reworks, courtesy of 16BL, Colyn, and Mita Gami, which complement the previously released remixes by Trikk and Collé.

These final reworks of ‘Sometime Not Now’ take the album to the dancefloor, with Colyn’s remix of ‘Outsider’ placing a heavier emphasis on the percussion and bass, Mita Gami’s ‘As You Fly’ bringing in a thumping kick, and 16BL’s rework of ‘Cowboy’ playing with syncopated synth lines and heavily processed vocals.

Colyn, a Dutch DJ and producer, has previously worked his magic on tracks by artists like RUFUS DU SOL and fellow Dutch electronic progressive producer Joris Voorn. 

Mita Gami, is a notable figure in the Israeli electronic and dance scene. Beyond his musical contributions, he runs his own label and is actively involved in local festivals. His previous releases on Solomun's label Dynamic and Damien Lazarus's label Rebellion attest to his influence in the industry.

Additionally, the project known as 16BL, driven by Ariaan and Peter from Cubicolor, is a staple act in the Anjunadeep realm and is poised for an exciting 2024 with new music on the horizon. So, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on what they have in store.

Cubicolor - The Outsider (Colyn Palapas Remix)

Sabo’s record label, Sol Selectas presents an organic house EP with Beleric influence by German Brigante.

German Brigante is back on Sol Selectas with his third EP for the label, and it’s a four-track release that blends flamenco influences with majestic synths and flowing percussion.

Based in Spain, German Brigante has been releasing electronic music for over a decade, and his sound has evolved throughout the course of his career. His classic releases have been on labels such as Get Physical, but in recent times he has featured melodic tracks on imprints such as Monaberry and Bar 25. German Brigante also heads up his own respected record label called Manitox.

Following years of DJ experience where German Brigante has travelled the world to play gigs everywhere from Australia to America, he is able to translate his innate knowledge of what works on a dancefloor into the invigorating sound of his music productions.

“Acido Azul” opens the release with an old-school acid house bassline, which is overlayered with bubbling synths and uplifting Spanish vocals that create an enchanting vibe. The upbeat percussion rhythms and subtle bursts of flamenco guitar add to its feel-good vibe.

“Açai” has a thickset bassline that lays a foundation for a finger-picked flamenco guitar and a fluttering flute that adds to the track’s sun-drenched sound.

“Será el Flamenco” has a deep bassline and emotive Spanish vocals that give the track an epic sound that’s augmented by its powerful melodies and samba-style percussion.

“Inquietud” closes out the release with its downtempo groove and acid bassline. Sweeping strings and sensual vocals combine with a mesmerising flute and alluring guitar that adds to the track’s seductive sound.
