UK-based producer Borai is one of the artists behind one of my fave labels Club Glow alongside Denham Audio, LMajor and Mani Festo. He’s been involved in the industry for over 15 years now with releases and remixes on labels such as E-Beamz, Them Recordings, Sneaker Social Club and Infiltrate to name a few. And with Borai being the moniker for his jungle and breaks releases, he’s also part of a death metal band Spiritflesh with DJ October.

Earlier this month, Borai returned with a new solo EP ‘Need U’ on the Club Glow imprint, also marking the label’s second vinyl release. It’s a brilliant addition to the vibrant, high NRG back catalogue the label has become known for. To celebrate the release, Borai has contributed pummelling power hour, rolling at breakneck speed featuring glistening jungle anthems ~ a perfect soundtrack for these forthcoming warm and wavy summer evenings.

Sharp FM 006 coming in hot! We're honored to present a custom mix by Tim Reaper. As a venerable pioneer of London’s contemporary jungle revival, Reaper’s visibility in global electronic music culture feels perfunctory—this is just what happens when you put the music first, and you do it well.

Reaper anticipates the spring equinox and gives spark to Aries’ fire with an all-vinyl mix that displays jungle’s virtuosic syncopations and body high-inducing bass frequencies; he touches upon both classic and contemporary legends with customary deftness, zeroing in on the combustive rowdiness of the scene’s ragga subgenre. We’re primed for warmer weather.

Given his prolific output, it’s obvious that Reaper works quickly, but he surprised us by sending over a completed mix before we even knew he was onboard for the project:

"This mix was recorded on vinyl, me playing some of my favourite ragga style jungle tunes from ‘93-’96, as well as some newer style ragga jungle bits, including a new remix I've done for M-Beat. "
