South London’s DJ Double Oh! made his production debut earlier this year, landing on All Centre with the sunny ‘Cuerpo y Sol’ - a sweltering release with rapid-fire rhythms at the forefront. The EP follows on from an appearance on the label’s 3rd anniversary compilation last year where Double Oh! remixed Yushh’s ‘I’m With Empty’.

Bringing this exciting energy to the 909 mix series, Double Oh! comes through with an enthralling 70-minute session filled with tension and emotion, from big dramatic club moments to quiet introspection, Double Oh! is here to keep you on your toes. 

In his own words, DJ Double Oh! describes the mix as, "smokey dystopia meets blissed out delirium, doing up no-border meditations and cloud nine polyrhythms, genre jumping and dancefloor drama; conjuring pressure and haze from the global underground."

Galtier is a DJ, Producer and label founder of Nostro Hood System: A thematic label focused on the xenological discovery of an alternate galaxy to our own that sets out to showcase the musical artefacts that originate from it. 

Galtier's productions are crystalline, soundscape-oriented leftfield electronic artefacts that borrow heavily from Techno, UK Bass, World Influenced Percussive Rhythms, Drum & Bass, Dancehall and Ambient, to name but a few. Through these and his other influences, Galtier manages to identify as a standalone producer through applying his deep interest in other areas of cultural media to his sound, moving laterally away from the linear. His distinctive interest in the myriad world of rhythm and percussion - coupled with a love for 1980’s science fiction & fantasy that he grew up watching - help sculpt his compositions into imaginative, thematic electronic tracks. 

With 10 years experience on the controls and an eclectic collection of tracks at his disposal, a Galtier set is limitless. No restrictions on BPM and a desire to keep things ever-changing, expect a massive shift in tempo throughout even a brief Galtier set. His cohesive understanding of music accompanied by his passion for creating his own unique and stylistic approach has won him admiration and respect on an international scale. His back-catalogue features releases on influential labels such as Infinite Machine, NAAFI, Files Rec and Apothecary Compositions, with a slew of releases hosted on his own label Nostro Hood System as well.

As 2023 approaches, we are asking artists to reflect on the year just gone through a series of 30-minute mixes built from new music they’ve discovered or enjoyed in 2022. 

Don’t let the alias fool you: the music made by DJ and producer Strict Face is the total anthesis of his stern-sounding moniker. The Adelaide-based artist is an expert crafter of fun and frenzied club bangers, which he’s dropped on labels such as Gobstopper and NLV Records. It’s via the latter that he released his latest EP, 'Focus, Explode', just a couple of weeks ago – making it a very late addition to the club projects of the year ranks, and a perfect accompaniment to an Australian summer.

"These tracks – and many others that didn't make the cut when I whipped up this mix – either share parallels with what I set out to achieve when I was working on 'Focus, Explode', or happened to be from artists whose work didn't leave my crates or playlists throughout the year,” he tells us.

“It encapsulates what excited me the most about dance music in 2022: a refined ability to connect the dots, pay respect to the heritage (whilst ripping up the rulebook even further) and make room for the dancers without missing a beat. Not surprisingly, a good majority of the tracks happen to be rhythmic and percussive as all hell, so it'll probably suit a nice bike ride or a speedy run quite well."
