JADED: Tell us about your local scene and your journey into techno?

NENAH: I live in a small town in Belgium where there isn’t a real techno scene. Most techno parties are happening in bigger cities, but since Belgium is a small country, it’s easy to travel to other countries and discover the techno scenes over there. I love to “techno travel” to discover the scenes and people in other countries. I can’t remember a time when there was no techno in my life to be honest, but about 1 year ago I decided to start mixing myself. I never would’ve thought that I would be asked to play for Jaded London 1 year later, so thanks again for the amazing opportunity!

JADED: Any time. We are looking forward to re-announcing this takeover as soon as we can! How do you define your sound today?

NENAH: I especially love industrial techno, hard sounds and high energy levels. 

JADED: Us too! You were due to play Jaded as part of the amazing Occult Rhythms crew earlier this month. Can you tell us a bit more about your connection to this crew and what it is that makes them so influential and in-demand?

NENAH: I met the crew last summer and played my first gig with them in February of this year. They are all amazing artists with their own personal sound, so their label nights are very diverse and take you through an amazing techno journey from the beginning to the end. Very proud that I was asked to play at Jaded for this magnificent label!

- ℹ️ - Balrog is a NeoRave Industrial Techno Producer and DJ from the UK.
Hailing from the Yorkshire Dales just outside of Leeds, Balrog has supplanted himself in the darker and grittier side of the genre with a focus on heavy unrelenting drums, driving bass and obscure distorted vocal. 
His tracks look back to the classic hard rave style and grooving techno of the early 2000's, but with a fresh injection of modern industrial power.

This young producer has gone from strength to strength over the last few years with multiple releases on techno labels as :
The Meaning Of Rave, COUP, Green Fetish, Taro, Blacklapse, Måinmise, Archivio 01 and Gobsmacked. 
These releases and unreleased tracks have received support from some of the biggest in the scene including Dax J, Rebekah, Paula Temple, Stephanie Sykes, Manni Dee, Gijensu, Tham, SHDW & Obscure Shape, Dahryl and many more.

2020 is shaping up to be his biggest year to date with huge releases lined up on Occult Rhythms, Pitch Dark, SKUXX and others yet to be announced. 
He has also runs his own record label Khazad Records which releases music from the very best young industrial and hard techno talent in the UK and Europe.

I’m so happy to represent me and my collective with a mix I recorded for our good friends in Erfurt.
It was the beginning of 2020 which as we all now really sucked and now at this point no-one knows wtf is going on.
We went from Leipzig to Erfurt to see EXO.breeds first gig of the year which took place at kickerkeller and we didn’t know any of these guys.
I listened to the set of mmxixdj and it blew me away. This dude makes some really nice and heavy tunes just like I do.
So while EXO was playing, I went to the bar to have a quick chat with him, which ended up in an half an hour conversation including a few shots.
That night we became friends and now I’m here.
