The University of South Carolina's Office of Service-Learning and Community Engagement’s (OSLCE) mission is to support faculty, staff, and students participating in service-learning by providing an extensive set of workshops and resources that encourage teaching and learning within and beyond traditional classroom settings.  

In order to actively engage students, service-learning courses tie community service to academic content by giving students the opportunity to extend the learning environment beyond a class traditional classroom setting. The Office of Service-Learning and Community Engagement helps build relationships between community agencies and UofSC by providing opportunities for UofSC students to address and learn from real community problems.
