Accomplished producer, Phil Kieran, makes his Hotflush debut with a two-track ode to hedonistic flight. “Yes I’m going there” goes the lead track’s refrain. Where ‘there’ is, who knows? But you can enjoy a soundtrack of sun-kissed piano chords and heraldic horns on the way. As Kieran ‘gets away’ on the A2, the mood takes a turn for the dark. Lost in the early hours, pockets full of miniature plastic bags and no money…thank fuck for the throb of that kick in these lonely but exciting times.

Richy Ahmed and Ryan Elliott, offer their interpretations of Kieran’s bacchanalia on the B-side with the former creating a barnstorm of minor stabs and attitude, and the latter tearing it up, down, left and right with his broken beats and wailing vox. Gone there. Got Away.

A match made in groove heaven, both acts have long-since established a pedigree for timeless tracks. Complementing each other’s sonic sentiments like well-tailored suits, the three men initially collided in a Barcelona studio late last year. They enjoyed such a creative spree there’s a wealth of material about to come our way. And it starts here with these three seismic slabs of deep, rolling gold. Press play…

“Uniformal Processing” purrs with dub science. Once we’ve acquainted ourselves with the rolling techy drum dynamic, we’re introduced to an array of elements… A harrowed, heavily-processed vocal sample, eerie subtle synth textures and a bassline so rich in warmth and weight it initiates an organic swing that hypnotise any dancefloor within a five mile radius.

The theme of hypnosis is maintained throughout “9th Configuration”. Deeper, darker and more dramatic than the title track, it’s built on a bedrock of silky, slinky, detailed percussion and progressively builds by way of a dominant riser and sincere sub bass penetration. Through the darkness a shimmering arpeggio takes hold. Rippling and wriggling amid the elements it’s a quintessential balance of shades that twists, turns and teases throughout the eight minute adventure.

Last but definitely not least we hit “Something Happier”. Living up to its name, it departs from the heavier tech flavour of the previous two tracks and shuffles with a groovier, bass-led swing and a more uplifting set of synth colours. The drums gradually build with percussive clarity before we’re dropped into a blissfully light synth refrain which triggers an even funkier bassline twist and more infectious, hip-shaking rhythmic elements.

Denney has ricocheted through the dance music circuit since his first Hot Creations release in 2012, raising the stakes higher with each record and gaining props from everyone from Annie Mac to Mixmag, who named him their ‘Future Hero’. ‘Visualise’ lands on Crosstown Rebels on 27th May with three original cuts from Denney and a Luke Solomon remix.

From the headsy house of the title track, to the deep and enthralling pulse of ‘Senses’ and the rolling melodies of ‘Hallucinate’, Denney illustrates the breadth of his raw and burgeoning talent. While Classic record founder and chart topping Freaks frontman Luke Solomon steps up to shake up ‘Visualise’ with his awe-inspiring take on the original, hot a you like!

Denney cut his teeth at the legendary Back To Basics in Leeds, where he now holds a residency. This release his first for Damian Lazarus’s pioneering imprint and another step up in the ranks for this rising star. “Crosstown Rebels has been one of my favourite record labels over the last decade so am really excited to be releasing with them."

It seems as if 15 years have quickly flown by since we first opened our doors at the base of the famous Oberbaumbrücke joining Berlin’s Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain districts. With countless long nights into majestic mornings and open airs in our beloved city to showcases spanning the globe, Watergate has grown to include a booking agency and a record label pushing the sounds of our mainstay artists and some of the most revered acts in the scene. To celebrate our journey over the last decade and a half we have put together a special anniversary release of 25 new, exclusive and formerly unreleased tracks to be released as a 2x CD set with our traditional Watergate artwork as well as a special collector's edition box set as a 5x vinyl, 2x CD package including a commemorative art print, two free entries to the club itself and the very special photo book ‘Sound Travels’ by Linus Dessecker which features photos and interviews of artists that played at Watergate when they arrived or left Berlin, all wrapped up in a sleek minimalistic package entitled “WATERGATE XV”.

Moon Harbour’s much loved Inhouse series is back with another bumper edition of beats. The second third of the compilation is taken care of firstly by German studio wizard SmashTV, who sinks you deep into his warm and late-night house cut ‘Destruction’ which has perfectly seductive vocals catching your attention. Vangelis Kostoxenakis’ ‘I Think You’re Freaky’ ups the ante with a driving bass and drums combo that comes with haunting pads and metallic hits that are designed to make a big impact in the club. The Ibiza based Miane follows up her excellent Control EP on the label with another big track, ‘Put It In Motion’ that has a turbocharged bassline and classic vocal samples that are set to become anthemic once more this summer.

One half of esteemed house duo Waifs and Strays, Amos, launches his new alias: Part Time Lover. Debuting on Crosstown Rebels with Don’t Hesitate, the EP is a stunning six track release that features vocals from Danielle Moore and Oli Gosh, as well as remixes from PBR Streetgang

The EP opens with Don’t Hesitate. A pure house groover, Oli Gosh’s vocals provide the track with a seductive flare, whilst the swinging bassline rolls alongside dynamic pulsing keys. Second up is the dub version of Don’t Hesitate. Stripped back yet still wholesome, the mix features whirring pads. Tied comes next, as Danielle Moore’s incredible soulful vocals coat the record with a dance-ready warmth. PBR Streetgang are first up on remix duties, providing an acid-flecked reinterpretation of Tied that harks back to the 80s with electro-like synths and distorted kicks, before their dub mix continues in a similarly driving vein.

English vocalist Oli Gosh has featured on Dutch house music label Armada Deep. Danielle Moore has been the lead singer of Crazy P since 2002, releasing on the likes of Wolf Music Recordings and Smoke ‘N’ Mirrors. PBR Streetgang released their standout album Late Night Party Line last year on the esteemed Skint label.

It is the year 2007.

Electronic music is more popular than ever, especially TechHouse is on a thriving uprise and Berlin already became the buzzing nightlife capital of the world it is known as today.

Amidst all these creative and musical vibes a new label is born -  Upon.You Records. Founded in February 2007 by DJ & producer Marco Resmann, with a first release under his moniker Phage on Martin Landsky's Intim Recordings as well as great success as one half of the infamous project Luna City Express under his belt, and electronic music veteran Hawks Grunert, formerly involved in running Timing Recordings with Tanith as well as working for legendary „Frontpage“ magazine, Upon.You Records was already widely recognized for its first release, Phage's „Vut & Vat EP“, and started to drive on the fast lane immediately.

Originally intended to be a platform for music from an inner circle of friends as well as for aspiring young talent it didn't take long until the label branched out in 2008 with first international signings,  various label tours all over the place and a first label compilation.

In 2009, after receiving massive support from nightlife heavyweights like Steve Bug, Brothers Vibe, Someone Else and many more, a cover story in German electronic music magazine GROOVE and with a catalogue of roughly twenty 12“ releases Upon.You launched two subdivisions - Upon.You Digital and the momentary Upon.You Sweet & Sour Series – and established a booking agency as well as regular label events at two of Berlin's most praised venues, Watergate Club and the infamous Panoramabar.

Furthermore Upon.You Records teamed up with Workaholics Berlin for the launch of a merchandising line in 2009, introducing the labels unique visual image to the world of street fashion.

With the launch of the annual label retro- / futurespective „Upon.You Diary“ and an expanded core artist family now including Marco Resmann, Martin Landsky, ONNO, Ruede Hagelstein, Gunnar Stiller, Magit Cacoon and The Cheapers alongside many others, 2010 finally paved the way for success and fruitful growth to come in consecutive years in which Upon.You became one of the leading labels in all things TechHouse and related.

And it was even the first issue „Upon.You Diary“ that awed the electronic world with Marco Resmann's widely praised tune „This Song“, immediately ruling every dancefloor after it was released and drawing even more attenttion towards the Berlin-based label which continued to expand its growing international network whilst signing releases by Quenum, Kink or the UK-based longtime ambassador Steve Lawler.

On a jam-packed schedule of about twenty releases per year lately, including Ruede Hagelstein's Beatport smash „Minus“, with label artists touring the globe frequently and armed with the brand new, 2014-launched UYX subdivision focusing on raw TechHouse and classic stamped whitelabel aesthetics, Upon.You has grown into a major force on the international electronic music circuit.

Always on the lookout for new talent and keen to explore new territories, the future looks brighter than ever for Upon.You after entering the longplay circuit with the widely acknowledged album debut of the former Tel Aviv- and now Berlin-based DJ / producer Magit Cacoon, another successful instalment of the „Upon.You Diary“-series and finally entering three digit realms with the release of Marco Resmann's extrordinary gold vinyl 12“  „100“ - the onehundredth Upon.You single release in the label history which was released in late 2015.

And things surely are about to be busier than ever for all members of the Upon.You camp over the course of 2016, celebrating the labels 8th anniversary with a dedicated series of label events all over Europe and special showcases at Sonar / Barcelona as well as ADE and, of course, a string of high quality releases for maximum dancefloor pleasure throughout this season and beyond. Watch out.
