Life Gems are bite size mentorship episodes for creatives, entrepreneurs or anyone who needs some motivation! When you never stop believing in you, who knows what's possible?!

This episode is called ‘No Manual, No Booklet." That's right, this episode is all about taking what applies and letting the rest fly. 

To keep things simple we'll focus on these key topics:



🥇There’s no roadmap:

I've come to realize that so many of us spend our lives searching for answers, looking for guide to help us through the twists and turns. We want someone to hand us a manual on how to navigate relationships, careers, and personal growth. But the truth is, life doesn't work like that. We're all on our own unique journeys. I share my experiences of living my life with no manual, no booklet!



🥈There’s no one size fits all solution:

First things first, embrace the fact that there's no one-size-fits-all solution. We're all different. Our paths, our dreams, our passions—they're uniquely ours. I talk about not fitting in with people’s expectations and following your own path. 


🥉There’s opportunities to learn: 

When we talk about ‘no manual,

no booklet’, it can also mean that’s more than one way to do things. This can be in parenting, in family life or business but there’s always opportunities to learn new ways. I discuss how I’ve learnt from understanding this.

Imagine procrastination and stubborn perseverance getting together and procreating – that would be what MJ faces when she looks in the mirror every day. Her stubborn mind-set has gotten her into trouble more often than she'd care to admit. 

Spunk and tenacity shine in MJ's eyes when you speak with her, and it carries in the excitement of her voice. Get her talking about writing and the world of publishing, next thing you know she’s outlined the manuscript of your life and you can’t wait to write it. Granted, the instant M.J. is required to do something she’s not particular about, those procrastination tendencies creep in like assassins in the night.

MJ’s love of reading and writing at a young age drew her to adventure books of all genera. While she enjoys writing science-fiction, fantasy, and romantic suspense, her focus is more on the internal journey her characters take as they learn about themselves and face their darkest fears – this might take place on another planet, on a university campus, or in a magical realm; but there’s always that touch of adventure to lend a dash of spice to her work.

M.J. has a Bachelor of Education and Theatre Production Specialization from York University, and a Minor in Creative Writing from Athabasca University. She edited for several small Canadian Presses including Imajin Books, Wrongtree Press, and Love Knot Books as well as freelanced for many years. Currently, she is focusing on writing and aiding authors interested in the Indie Publishing journey.

A voyage for the mind, ELEMENTS takes the listener on an ambient journey around the world in a story featuring the four classic elements.  The first section AIR starts with piano birds flying over a coastal environment until you are swept into the sky among them, floating on the wind.  We fly into the next section EARTH with a visit to a desert which culminates in a summer storm and a lightning strike which sparks a FIRE.  We follow the fire trail until we reach a sacred canyon and discover a cave siren conjuring energy in a sacred cavern.  We float on this underground lake until it churns up a strong current which pulls us back out to sea into the deep ocean. Ultimately resurface on the same beach we left and make it back to shore where the cycle begins again.
