Dalmata Daniel welcomes Filmmaker and Petros Spatharos for the eighth part of their split series. This obscure 3-3 track vinyl is the debut of the Columbian music maker on the label. However, for the Athens-based producer it's a return after his participation on "Dalmata Daniel eats Lahmacun" compilation. But this project isn't their first collaboration, because Petros released his first album on Body Musick, Filmmaker's own imprint.

Filmmaker probably doesn't really need to be introduced to those who are comfortable with contemporary underground music. In less than five years he has composed and released a huge and relevant oeuvre by himself or on labels such as the UK-based Opal Tapes, Dutch Tartarus, Greek Phormix or the German Veyl, etc. To add Dalmata Daniel to this list is kind of a dream come true for the label, because they have been following his musical journey since the beginning. And no doubt, his side of the vinyl is another testament to his already perfected sound. What you recognise from the first moment of this noisy, industrial, sometimes dissonant ebm driven electro, infused with a film noir atmosphere and total darkness.

While on the flip side, Petros Spatharos keeps the obscurity going, which is the real link with his split partner's music. Only his sound is clean, not chaotic, but rather underworld techno with an extremely restrained tempo and some beyond-the-grave acid screams. That's how this inferno journey will be complete with full of dark emotional atmospheres and hypnotic textures.

Kevin Palmer is someone the label has been in touch with and an admirer of for a long time now, and after acclaimed releases for Opal Tapes and Astro:Dynamics amongst others, we're thrilled to finally be able to put out some of his most uncompromising music yet. Headed up by the relentless metallic post punk of title track 'Neon Razer Chain', this EP moves effortlessly through experiments in billowing ambience, dubbed out machine jams and buzz saw techno, to make one of his most diverse releases to date.

Machine Cult is an electronic music platform based in Amsterdam hosted by Déandrah and Garçon Taupe. On one side, it functions as a record label. On the other, an event series. The release party for Edition Two will be taking place in OT301 (Amsterdam) on the 6th of April, featuring DJ sets by VOLPEVOLPE, Böhm, Aroy Dee, Freek Fabricius, Fast Ram and Déandrah who will be behind visual duties.

Hijger is a one take recording of my layered voice / breath using a Boss Voice Transformer accompanied with a simple Roland TR-08 pattern and a synth pad from the mighty Yahama DX-7.

KIL
Taking his nickname from his birth place, the city of Quilmes, Argentina, Kil is a software engineer by day and an electronic musician by night. With influences from ambient, electro, techno and from national rock bands,  he performs and produces music infused with mental but also highly explosive energy. Since 2020 he has been part of the music project Forello, a live electronic music trio based on improvisation with analog gear, counting with presentations in MUTEK, Under Club, Crobar, Lollapalooza and more.

Moving on from their time holed up in a leisure resort relic, the Dutch retrogressive, analogue synth machine obsessives and tape fanatics Betonkust & Palmbomen II have teamed up together once more for a new EP. An immediate follow up to their debut LP Center Parcs, the new EP pays fictional homage to a now deceased famous TV star, who instead on working on the screen, took up a new direction in making music. Once more replete with esoteric experimentalism, analogue jams, drums machines, synths, and a healthy dose of acid basslines, the production duo advance upon their aesthetic with a new extended EP of nostalgic, melancholic electro.

With Palmbomen II a.k.a. Kai Hugo, based out and working in Los Angeles, collaborations with Dutch-based partner Betonkust happen less frequently than they should - especially when you acknowledge that they do not use, or record to computers. When they do happen though, their distinctive sonic palette of saturated distortion, and warm melodic wavey house shines through. This time recorded in a bungle somewhere in the Dutch countryside, the two producers have created a concept record about Bart, a local hero and his imagined life in a parallel universe. In this reality, instead of making it in TV, Bart is a successful music producer, the track titles detailing his journey through this new and imagined life. 'Bart Is Alone Again' kicks off the record with its wistful melodies, and harmonic leads, before 'Underground Dance Floor' kicks in with its predominate bassline, and squelching deep-rooted, undercurrents of hardcore. Along Bart’s odyssey there are moments for 'Bart's Jam', an early days Warp Records / Detroit belter; 'Rejected Demo Tape' a downbeat moment of anguish; ending with 'A Series of Bad Decisions,' in which the EP plays out to somber, yet harmonious conclusion.
