Our guest this week flies in from Belgium, where he works as a DJ and produces deliciously infectious grooves in his studio too. 
He had his first release in June 2020 on Midnight Riot with “Chocolate” and when we heard him on Mango Sounds with his pumping “Wanna Be With You” we were sold. 
Tonight Mavalo is ready to tear a hole in your speakers and drizzle them with a thick, greasy glaze of disco sauce.

This edition is a tale of two halves, coming out of the starting blocks with deep & rolling house laced with elements of jazz and soul. This sound is ever growing on us and you will find much more of this moving forward. We have also took the opportunity to spin a disco infused house stomper from Jackmaster & Jasper James which is a free download made in a hotel room in Ibiza a few years back! I was introduced to this track by Mighty Mouse and Lord was I happy when I found it!

UPTOWN FUNK'S SUNDAY GROOVES 02-05-21

GC029 - Pete Ellison 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 

On the custard mixtape series this week we have Pete Ellison. 
Having been DJing since 1998 and starting out originally playing vinyl, his music collection from those 20 years is vast. It covers a variety of genres from house to nu-disco, funk to techno and everything in between. 
Long DJ sets are a speciality, with his longest ever DJ performance being an epic 8-hour set.
He runs a DJ collective called Serendipity who throw underground events and boat parties in London, playing an eclectic vibe of disco, deep house and techno. 
For the past year he has been broadcasting a weekly show called the “Feel Good Friday Radio Show”, featuring stellar guests from the world of funk and nu-disco.
More recently Pete has started producing his own tracks, with his first EP coming out on Super Spicy Records later this year!

This week's Spin City Show that aired on 9th May 2021 on myhouseradio.fm saw the 2nd week of our Disco Walton takeover. Up this week saw the return of my boogie brother Ste Hendry aka @esteban2907 laying it down good and proper for the first hour with some impecable selections, and mixing to boot.
