Hace mucho tiempo que quise sacar ese mixtape y ahora que salió el sol...es la hora!!

La inspiración de ese mix viene de un concepto sencillo: reimaginar unos temas que me encanta en un estilo cumbiero, más lento, más sabrosos ;) Mientras que estaba terminando mi EP Cumbias Imaquinarias (https://elbuho.bandcamp.com/album/cumbias-imaquinarias-ep) volví a enamorarme de la cumbia y su ritmo delicioso y pues asi nació el mixtape que mezcla todo desde Burial hasta Manu Chao y mucho más...

Espero que disfruten esta selección de música que ya conocen pero tal vez en un nuevo contexto o unos nuevos descubrimientos. Voy a agregar un playlist pronto pero por el momento escucha, disfruta y viaja!!! 🌞 ☀️ 🌞

I have been sitting on this mixtape for a little while now but decided, the sun is shining, it's time for some new music.

This mix is inspired by a simple concept: some tunes I love reimagined in a new context cumbiero. As I was finishing my last EP Cumbias Imaquinarias (https://elbuho.bandcamp.com/album/cumbias-imaquinarias-ep) I  went back to some Cumbia roots and decided to make this slightly mad mixtape of all sorts of music with Cumbia as the thread running through the mix. Everything from Manu Chao to Burial ;)

Hopefully you discover music you know and love in a new light and maybe even some new music ;) I will add a tracklist soon but for now, jump in, immerse yourself and enjoy the Cumbia sunshine!! 🌞 ☀️ 🌞

This is a mix of my favorite Brazil inspired songs! You will hear different flavors of Brazilian music, some remixes and edits of old Brazilian songs, some new song from Brazilian Artists and Producers, with many Portuguese Lyrics and Vocals. Expect chill vibes that you can dance along if you like :) I love the music of Brazil so much, it is so diverse from it's influence of Africa, Europe, and South America. I made this mix because I have all of these amazing songs that I wanted to showcase all of my favorites together and spread the love!

We played from midnight until 2am so our set was this time a little different than the usual daytime sets. The audience really enjoyed  it, danced full power , they loved the versatility of our DJset, we had a biiig applause - at least one minute long - after we finished and we played our "Veled egy vagyok" song as an extra for closing. There are places on this beautiful planet where immensity is the only dimension, places where the clouds come so close that they seem accompanying your wandering. Places so infinitely empty that fulfil the spirit. The African plains and deserts are undoubtedly among those, and today we undertake an adventurous journey across their rhythms and flavours. These were the inspiring forces guiding Pedro Canale in the selection of the sounds for this beautiful mix. Pedro is the self-defined ‘joyful monkey’ which in 2005 started the music project Chancha Via Circuito(https://soundcloud.com/chanchaviacircuito). Back in the day in Buenos Aires, he was one of the pioneers who started combining the folk Latin-American rhythms of cumbia with electronic sounds. As his horizons expanded, different sonorities entered his sound palette and led him to become the ecletic musician and producer which we have the pleasure to listen to today. 
Besides featuring instruments and motives of the African continent, the mix he preapared for UCR captures the spirit of that land. Sparkling and vibrant sounds conceal dark tones, as lights and shadows on the dunes move together in a sinuous dance. Talking about the set Pedro said: `There was nothing for miles around; it was a wilderness`, and in that desert we roam. May its infinite emptyness fulfil our spirits.
