Montevideo-based U're Guay Records appears for the first time on our platform dropping a mighty 13-track release by Argentinian producer, DJ, and visual artist Francisco Gigena aka Panko. “Milonga Queer” LP is a gender theory manifesto devoted to showcasing a little of the affluent and diverse Argentinian underground musical culture – blending with a proper dose of Tango, obviously – and triggering a certain nostalgia from the time we were allowed to free ourselves on packed and sweaty clubs.

The album is arranged as a chronicle of BPMs, ranging from 95 to 200, and gathers an interesting tapestry of genres, such as House, Techno, Indie Dance, and Drum 'n' Bass. Insightful collaborations from Imanol, Nico Schneerson, Inda Jani, Samuele De Santis, Tinitus, among others, enrich even more the release.

Panko teamed up with Uruguayan artist Tinitus to deliver "Pista", the tune we were solicited to review/premiere. Remember what we said before about packed and sweaty clubs? Well, no other piece of “Milonga Queer” sets off such a strong desire to go back to one. Everything in and about it refers to the missed club culture: Starting with its name (“pista” is the Spanish word for dance floor) and its rave aura brought about by the “Blade Theme”-inspired atmosphere. The frolic whistle-like FX layer and the upbeat carnival-ish percussion cannot go unmentioned. Panko & Tinitus’s “Pista” is another one added to the tracks-we-need-to-play-at-a-party-whenever-we-have-the-opportunity list. Kudos, hermanos!
