This is a poem I wrote several years ago that is still looking for a home in a publication. It's not a pretty poem about flowers and sunsets, it will never be on a hallmark card. It's a gritty, visceral piece about the imperfection of myself, and the imperfection of the world, and how we can move beyond that through acceptance and kindness in spite of all that's wrong if we are brave enough.
