Sailor & I - Tough Love (Jonas Mantey Triebkraft I Remix)

After the Beatport chart mainstay 'Mama Say', Dan Caster is back on Light my Fire with his next masterstroke, 'Lead Me Home', a sure fire bomb for the late summer and beyond. Here, crisp claps shatter through dusty synths, while dark piano keys accentuate a forceful bass line and heavy kick. Eventually guitar licks introduce a country vocal that drops into a killer groove. Welcome to the Wild West!  Sascha Braemer's 'Dirt Mix' then pushes a wholesome, acidic bass bed forward with razor-sharp hi-hats and peaks in euphoric piano stabs. 'Go Down', a collaboration with Björn Störig, sees the pair go ghetto aided by an in-your-face chant. This is heavy-duty dance floor material that will make you sweat. Lastly, Steve Bone puts an emphasis on grooving percussion and a good dose of bounce on his remix. Smoking hot!

MOTHER018, Superlative Tracks Volume 3

Mother Recordings releases the third volume of its “Superlative Tracks” series. The concept behind this compilation format is a broad mixture of tracks, created by a motley crew of producers showing their unconditional love for Hip-Hop, Disco and Funk. All tracks are built around more or less dominant samples from these genres, giving them a new spin into the direction of contemporary house music. This 4-tracker is anything but short of being a true collection of Dj weapons that will set any dance floor ablaze in not time. 

01 – Gimme That / Dannson
The opener comes from Dannson (Play It Down) creator of this year’s club bomb and Beatport chart runner “Shake That”. It´s a bouncy affair with whiplash style claps, funky synths and some old school rap verses on the top. This one’s for the hip to hop.

02 – Tell Ya / Nhan Solo
Nhan Solo delivers his biggest club tune for 2013 so far. A sample from a well-known Mexican orchestra combined with some funky drum loops is all he needs to unleash the magic. The hook is an instant booty shaker, so let me tell ya’ something: it’s good times and hands-in-the-air galore. 

03 – Ain’t No Good / Michael Aleav
We welcome vienna based producer Michael Aleav. 'Ain’t No Good' is a reference to the high times of UK house and garage anthems. Catchy vocals, warm synths, shuffling hi-hats and a rolling bass line all molded into one irresistible groove. A pure party track, 100%!!

04 – Put Ur Hands Up / Den Ishu & Noah
Just when you thought you where out, Den Ishu & Noah pull you back in with this bouncy busta of a track. It’s a deep, slow builder with the rhymes kicking in just at the perfect moment. After that, enjoy the flow, light it up and take a ride in your 5.0.

For the first single from a 6-track EP from Montreal's Clarian (who is also one half of Footprintz), the Canadian reached well beyond the border to collaborate with Tel Aviv-born, Madrid-based producer Guy Gerber on "Claire." Gerber has been a major player on Israel's electronic scene since 2006, running his own Supplemental Facts label and infusing traces of minimal techno, tech house, downtempo and deep house in his productions, while remaining singular in his approach. Clarian's vocal contributions were at the heart of Gerber's progressive house-leaning Fabric mix from last year, which joined the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Omar-S of artists that turned in single-artist mixes to the series. "Claire" starts amid a queasy vocal snippet (with Clarian's French whisper lodged in at the midpoint) and threatens to go darker and deeper. But a steady handclap and glimmering melodic line uplifts and casts light across this seven-minute track.
