10 is a number that looks very nice. Fresh and friendly it says: „Hey Hello, look, now we are two“ ...the 1 and the 0. The binary base of your civilization. Somehow we got the feeling, we should honor this. Why so ever, lets just do it, because it is beautiful, beacuse our music that we record and produce is also just a binary code, transforming over and over again, from our fingers on the synths, from the mic to the mixer, from the mixer into space, back on black plastics or bluetoothing through your walls directly in your ear...and this just because there is a 1 and a 0. This is why we celebrate, to say thank you to these magic numbers. Without these two little friends we would drum our techno with bones in analog caves. Naked. Oh Wait...that sounds great...the URSL Cave Raves. Mmmmh...well we will keep you in the loop on this new project. His main poetic work was primarily concerned with the weariness and boredom of the bourgeoisie and the accompanying alienation of existence.
Carried by sadness and melancholy, Fleur Du Mal wants to present itself in different guises.
Whether danceable or in quiet minutes as delicate chord variations; similar to the original book of poems, the entire release is multi-faceted, lively and at its core born from the same world-weariness.
The original vocals by ANGST vor GRETA are a symbiosis of their original soundtrack and a complementary soundtrack, which gets its characteristic sound through its semitone boost.

Most of the tracks on Spellbound were produced in my old basement studio in Brooklyn during the winter lockdown. I remember thinking a lot about freedom of choice, why I like music, and whether we live in a computer simulation or not (I know, I had a lot of time on my hands).
Now, while these thoughts didn't yield any answers, they sure seeped into this release.

The track Cinderella really is about perseverance against the odds. The prince turns his kingdom upside down, goes from door to door, looking for his love, trying to not break that glass slipper. That night with old Cindy must feel like a long gone dream, a fairy tale, unreal, yet he won't let go...or can't...or chooses not to. He keeps holding onto something that ain't real. A possibly endless enchantment without knowing whether the spell is good or bad. That prince would make a fine artist!

On Repeat deals with the kind of spell that leaves you powerless, but in a good way. A magic you surrender to, a trustworthy sorcery, and also a sexy bass line, if I may say so.

Spellbound, the title track, is actually a shower song - I sing under the shower, everyday, I cannot control it. It's like there are little tunes hidden within the white noise of the running water, and usually they go down the drain with it, never to leave the bathroom - not Spellbound though. That main melody was stuck in my head for days, couldn't wash it off. Very strong spell, beware!
