Light Rain

Made this while experimenting with a new plug-in called Codec, made by Lese. It's free, so I do recommend it. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with what came out of that experimentation. What do you think?

Knife's Edge

Pain is hard to deal with.

Understatement of the century, right?
It's different for everyone, and there's no guide.
You have to find your own path through.

I haven't been able to really cry in a long time.
For a while, I thought I was internally surpressing it.
But I think I just don't have it in me anymore.
Sometimes, a few tears come out, but then...
Nothing.

When you lose someone, or something terrible happens,
It's like a wave of cold tones and hues slowly swallowing you.
An ocean of ice and fear and emptiness and isolation.
Paying attention to those emotions, you feel like you're drowning.
Or, give in to the emptiness in your heart and feel nothing at all.

But life goes on. It doesn't stop for you, for anything for that matter.
Fall back into your work, slowly take up your habits again.
Not realizing that you enjoy it all a little less than before,
That your self care and daily habits are a bit more sloppy,
That part of you died with them.

When the horrific and the mundane are made into one,
How can you cry over any one thing in particular?
Your worldview gets a little darker, a little more bleak,
To everyone else you probably look fine, but are you?
Or have you just learnt to feel at home in the dark and empty?

Go back.
Find that part of you in the cold and the dark and the empty.
Yes, life goes on and you must remain vital and functional.
But whenever you get the chance, tend to your wounds.
Feel your pain, acknowledge it, express it, and release it.

Take your grief and carry it's injured body back to life.
Let life flow back into your frozen limbs, don't fear the pain,
Let your screams and sobs mark the significance it.

Only by knowing and expressing our pain through and through, can we heal.
