I am delighted to present a demo of my most recent choral piece 'Tea and Symphony'. It was commissioned by Music 4 Wellbeing for their Carers Create choirs (The Seaside Singers, The Songbirds and The Seaview Singers) based in East Kent. 'Tea and Symphony' receives its premiere at Quarterhouse 'Normal?' festival of the brain 2016 at 2pm on 27th May.

The Lyrics were taken from interviews conducted with the three choirs and the form and themes decided in collaboration with the choir members. I wish them the best of luck for their first public performance.

Tea And Symphony (edited Demo)

First piece written for the Sail Britain Coastline Project, where i was composer in residence in April 2016. Sailing out of Ipswich, we spent 4 days exploring the coast of Suffolk.

This is a re-arrangement of an Arlet track which i wrote as a trio version, and features on the bonus CD with our album Big Red Sun. 

Bowerhouse #2

In October 2015, Anna was commissioned by Music 4 Wellbeing to write a piece for three choirs of people living with dementia and their carers, as part of their project ‘Carers Create’. She ran workshops with their singers in Margate, Herne Bay and Canterbury at which she collected research and workshopped ideas for the piece. Choir members also enjoyed a song-writing workshop in which they helped to create musical content for the commission. The choral piece with flute, guitar and accordion accompaniment entitled 'Tea and Symphony' received it's first performance by the carers create choirs and singers from Sandgate Primary School at:

Quarterhouse Normal? Festival of the Brain on Friday 27th May.

Recordings of the performance are still being edited so for now here is a demo recorded by Anna at Montrose studios.

Montrose Composers’ Club is a group of like-minded composers based in East Kent who meet regularly to try out new ideas, perform their music and promote it to the wider world.

The MCC was founded in September 2015 and they convene at Montrose House in Folkestone, Kent. The Club comprises of local composers Aidan Shepherd, Ian Fleming, Matthew Brown, Anna Braithwaite and Phil Self, who all studied classical composition. Their eclectic careers have lent their writing flavours of folk, jazz, cabaret and electronics, allowing them to create genre-defying sounds for savvy ears.
