"I never planned to release these songs. They were my personal diary, where I kept my thoughts and moments that waited for the right time to be heard. At some point in life, I felt the need to share them with the world, as something personal and special. That’s how the idea of calling it The Diary was born.

This mini-album has no rules. It carries a few experimental sounds, just like the thoughts we all have in our minds. I plan to continue the series and return with The Diary 2 around this time next year. I hope the music will speak to you more than I do, and as long as you love it, it’s already yours, not mine. I would love to hear your thoughts about this one.

Die ganz individuellen Erfahrungen von Periode und der Vielfalt des erlebten Zyklus möchten wir mit dem Podcast DISBLUTAPE hörbar machen. Mit jedem TAPE kann ein*e DJ-Künstler*in sich musikalisch ausdrücken und uns ihre Wahrnehmungen aufzeigen. Denn Musik kann eine Brücke sein, um anderen Menschen Situationen fühlbar zu machen, die sie vielleicht selbst nicht erleben.

TAPE 2: Vorhang auf für @anna_waffel . Sie ist DJ aus Berlin und begleitet unsere Reise bereits seit über einem Jahr. Anna bringt immer warme Umarmungen – nicht nur menschlich, sondern auch musikalisch.

frech. fresh. fähig.
Ne im ernst: Ich tue mich nach wie vor schwer, mich überhaupt Künstlerin zu nennen. In meinen Augen habe ich einfach nur einen super Musikgeschmack und finds toll, wenn ich den Raum dafür bekomme, ihn anderen zu präsentieren :) Ohne die Künstler*innen, die zu Hause, in ihren Studios oder sonst wo in der Welt sitzen und nicht müde werden, tolle Musik zu produzieren, wäre ich doch eh aufgeschmissen!

Welches Genre spielst du?
Ich bewege mich gern im langsameren Bereich der elektronischen Musik, spiele mal ganz klassischen, dreamy Downtempo, aber ich liebe auch viele runtergepitchte Indie Dance Tracks und alles, was dazwischen passt. Ich nenne es dann liebevoll “Dolltempo” :D

Welches Thema hast du in deinem Podcast vertont?
Mein Mix widmet sich dem Thema PMS.

Warum hast du dich entschieden, dieses Thema zu vertonen?
Die Anfrage der lieben Planet Diskbluthek Crew erreichte mich in einer starken PMS
Phase und ich konnte mich sofort musikalisch damit verbinden. Nachdem mir diese
Zyklusphase lange unbekannt war und ich mich zunächst gesträubt habe, diesen Teil
meines Zyklus anzuerkennen, sehe ich nun die Notwendigkeit in ihr. Sie ist meine
Erinnerung, zurückzutreten, auf meinen Körper zu hören und langsamer zu machen,
geduldig mit mir selbst zu sein und alle Gefühle zu fühlen, die dann da sind und mir klar zu werden, dass sie auch wieder ziehen werden. Inspiriert von der wunderbaren Alma Omega und ihrem Set “Musik to PMS to” ist dies meine ganz eigene Sammlung an Emotionalität, Kraft, Melancholie und Optimismus von Producer*innen und Künstler*innen, die ich sehr schätze. Und auch für Menschen, denen der Zyklus ganz fremd ist, ist es ein ganz cozy Mix, der zum Entschleunigen einlädt.

Wie hast du das Thema in deinem Podcast interpretiert?
Ich habe mich gefragt, was ich eigentlich selber in so einer emotionalen
Ausnahmesituation brauche, nach welchen Sounds ich mich sehne. Musik begleitet mich schon immer in allen Lebenslagen und schafft es besonders gut, Gefühle aus mir
herauszulocken und mich diese einmal durchfühlen zu lassen. Dieses Set soll an
verschiedenen Stellen abholen, Hoffnung schenken, empowern, daran erinnern, sanft mit sich selbst zu sein, zur Melancholie einladen und diese zelebrieren. Ich habe zum ersten Mal ganz bewusst elektronische und nicht elektronische Musik in einem Set kombiniert, weil das eben auch Teil meiner musikalischen Identität ist und ich bin ganz dankbar, dass ich von der Planet Diskbluthek Crew den Raum dafür bekommen habe. Was wünschst du dir in Hinblick auf die Zyklusphasen?
Dass es noch viel normaler wird, sie alle zu kennen und danach zu leben. Das ist natürlich auch sau privilegiert, sein Leben nach dem eigenen Zyklus ausrichten zu können. Aber ich wünsche mir für mehr FLINTA, dass sie ihre eigenen Körper besser kennen und mit ihnen arbeiten, nicht dagegen. Ich habe selber erst nach 10 Jahren Zyklus gecheckt, dass ich nicht in jeder Phase gleich leistungsfähig bin. Meine sozialen Batterien sind zum Beispiel unterschiedlich gefüllt und ich kann im Training unterschiedliche Leistungen abrufen. Und ich lerne jeden Zyklus ein bisschen mehr, dass das alles okay so ist.
