I love bands like New Order for a myriad of reasons.  First there were bands like them, Love and Rockets, Crowded House and a few others that evolved out of another successful band.  They also were an evolution of a lot of what else was happening in a divergent music genres and technology.

Musically there is an openness/space and complex layers at the same time.  Where punk might be Dadaism or Jackson Pollock with a lot of chaos, New Order has more in common with the empty space found in East Asia art; the power is in what is not there.  

What I wanted to do, was layer the guitars instead of keyboards/synths.  I do add snare, kick, a piano deep in the mix and one track of keyboard strings.   The rest is all done with guitars.  Enjoy.
