Born in Detroit and raised in rural Michigan, Johnny Coolati spent fifteen years painting New York City red and now has been recovering in Los Angeles since the end of 2017. Coolati draws his influence from a dynamic range of rock musicians such as The Stooges, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Cheap Trick, Motörhead, The Damned, X, The Ramones, The Wipers, The Cars, DEVO, Missing Persons, and many more. He has been a member of as well as sat in with many different bands including Used to be Women, Awesome Color, The Christmas Boys, Toucher, Moon Patrol, Grand Voyager, Colin L Orchestra, Trophy Bucks, The Junkman Band, The Ettes, Prison, and is mostly recognized for forming the aggressive high energy and speedy rock and roll band Call of the Wild out of New York City with Allison Busch and Maxwell Peebles (most bands available to stream on Spotify or BandCamp). He lives happily now in Burbank, California (LA) with his wife April and enjoys hanging out with Mr. Elvis Presley, who happens to be his sister in law’s dog.
