This composition is about the horrors of war and the lasting scars it leaves on those who fought in them. This work features an excerpt from an audio cassette recording made by my eldest brother on March 17, 1971 while he was serving in Vietnam. My family and brother used to exchange recordings while he was deployed in Vietnam. On this occasion my brother describes how he miraculously survived a land mine explosion but he witnessed two of friends be critically wounded
