Following ITAI's two singles which have been released on Camel Riders, titled 'Flame Of The Pinecone' and 'Jacob's Ladder', we're thrilled to finally present ITAI's very anticipated debut album - 'A Trip to Idyllwild'. In his album, the gifted Saxophonist & electronic producer - ITAI, displays 8 tracks of hypnotising and elegant electronica, full of intriguing and mysterious melodies. Every track exhibits a fascinating musical tale full of emotions with a wide diversity of organic & electronic elements. From a Cabaret-ish atmosphere to obscure pounding vibes, this album contains a diverse palette of textures and feelings, taking the listeners into a coherent experience that ranges from melancholic to heart-warming. Glorious & sexy Sax riffs, middle-eastern Darbuka percussions, heart-warming Guitar riffs, trippy & ritualistic vocal fragments, wooden sounds, and much more, are fused in impeccable wat with extremely pleasurable electronic sounds, creating altogether a profound and fascinating journey. Here are some words by ITAI about the inspiration behind his wonderful album:
The story of "A Trip to Idyllwild" starts up in the mountains of that little town and the title kind of speaks for itself… After a few months of developing my sound in the studio, it felt like it was time for a break, and we were excited about a change of scenery from the Joshua Tree desert. It was a stormy night, the power went out, and we were already in a trippy place that was only enhanced by the cold winter winds. My partner Irene (nicknamed Wancy) and I had quite an experience running around in the dark, throwing pinecones into the fire, and connecting to our spirit animals… Most of the tracks on this debut album were born that night, and the minute we came back I got in the studio and turned those experiences and ideas into music. I hope you can also join me on this adventure, A Trip to Idyllwild.

Throughout human history and across most native traditions, constant repetitive rhythms and the steady drone of chanting have carried shamans and other spiritual seekers into other dimensions in ecstatic trance. Even today, this music, as ancient as the rocks and wind, provides sacred transport to higher states of well being and bliss. Attaining the Shante Ishta is the goal of this journey. This is the “single eye of the heart," the third eye or wisdom eye of the ancients--the shaman's eye. It is the place where the individual soul attunes to the collective, universal heartbeat that unites us all.

Shaman's Eye brims with multi-layered currents of sound and chanting woven around a steady stream of theta rhythms. These provocative rhythms are designed to tap into our own ancestral depths and call us into the secret worlds of trance. Each of these musical landscapes is alive with its own distinctive spirit energy. As they carry us forward they become the vehicle for our journeys.

In the true spirit of musical alchemy, Amani Friend blends his technical skills with his innate understanding of the power of sound and vibration to heal and transform. With deep reverence, he weaves the strands of pan-global percussive and melodic expressions, sacred chants, and the atmospheres of nature around the steady heartbeat of trance to inspire inner journeys.
