About this EP : 
¨Botanique¨ is the name of the last release by Mondocane, a music alchemist who's been shaking the Italian scene for the past twenty years. Always attracted by world music mixed with urban beats, he started releasing his original productions with a unique psychedelic/tribal twist mixed with slow techno, acid, and acoustic sampling techniques.
¨Botanique¨ is a concept album dedicated to the wonderful world of plants, which are the first-ever travelers on planet Earth. Every species with its own surviving strategy and its peculiarities can teach us so much like: how to survive our own destruction, how to cooperate with other humans and how to relate with the environment that surrounds us.  
We would like to dedicate this album to the work of Italian botanist Stefano Mancuso and give it as a gift to all the people who enjoy these deep vibes, enjoy!

Ueli (Oilst) and Pascal (MF Jaeger) have spent countless hours jamming with visitors from near and far, gigging and riding with the critical mass movement in their home city of Zurich. They combine recordings collected in jams with guitar player Orlando Ludens and Mexican producer Jiony with field recordings from the Critical Mass. Finally,  modular sounds complete the amalgamation of some of the most interesting and thought provoking music we've heard of late. 
The title track was remixed by fellow Zürchers Okuma in their signature  bouncey style, and our beloved tmpl is back with a more aggressive and melodic take.

PREMIERE: Oilst & mf jaeger - Critical Mass feat. Jiony (Original Mix)[Random Collective]

"Proverbial Microbial" is a small collection of purple concepts created during the early days of the Covid-19 quarantine. The idea is to give the music a real physical and historical significance by connecting it with the past and bringing it full circle to the present. Taking two specific historical events that occurred in the past century, connecting those with our current 2020 situation, and finally translating it into music, the result comes out as the Proverbial Microbial, that molecular enemy (or friend) that we all fight against and ultimately adapt to.''

Mata Bicho is a satire in the form of a deep industrial slow banger. Inspired by the proverbial purple grandfather, José Maria Lopes, whose illustrious voice you hear throughout the track, the Mata Bicho (translated roughly from Portuguese as ‘'bug killer'') was a very common practice during the old days, where men and women, at a time where there was very little to no access to dental hygiene, would drink homemade liquor in the morning to clean their mouth and teeth before heading to the fields to work. Also mentioned are the ‘'sopas de cavalo cansado'' or ‘'tired horse soups,'' a breakfast served specially to tired children that consisted of a soup made of bread, wine and sugar, done so the children would feel ‘'energized'' as they went to work long hours in the fields. It was well known at the time that alcohol was an effective way to combat fatigue and the ‘'bicho,'' but the side effects of daily alcohol consumption would only be felt years later, resulting in rampant alcoholism and health problems.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access.  Don't be mad if I have not replied to your message in the past two years, that's because I never got them ; ) ... You can always reach me here though.

You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
