Desde las sombras (From the shadows) is a saxophone quartet (soprano sax, 2 alto sax and tenor sax) that explores the acoustical repercussions made by the clash of really close intervals that generates rhythm oscillations between them leading to some spectral consequences. It is based on a microtonal style, centered in the tones F4 and E4 (which are the central keys in a piano), and on the creation of a sense of echoes and resonances between the players of the quartet. Also, it has an undetermined writing style used in the duration of the phrases and with some improvisation parts, creating some rich different textures.

It is a calmed piece that stimulates a quietly, mindful listening, where it is generated a bigger accumulation or voiced density, from the beginning to a more explosive and rhythmic ending.

Composer and mathematician with a special interest in composing soundscapes and contemporary classical and electroacoustic music (also mixed music or live electronics). Moreover, I research the way to incorporate different mathematical process in music and to combine music with other arts and performance.
