Dewand Clay aka Ras Wiz is a very versatile wordsmith, mc, singer/songwriter from Nashville, TN who teams with eclectic boom bap tracks that accentuate his conscious persona. He displays poetic expertise through rhyme, melody, and soul with an authentic, soulful, hip-hop sound. He also has influence from an upbringing of singing in the church choir as a youth as well as piano lessons, trombone, and even traveled with the world-renowned Rust College Acapella Choir. These influences, along with life's hand being dealt, shape Ras Wiz into the artful poet and music lover that he is. 

	Dewand has always showed musical talents as well as creative writing skills. He began rhyming at the age of 9 and then teamed up with a cousin of his to form the duo they called Wan+Twan. They would write childish, yet creative, songs and record them on a tape player. Later, Dewand released "The Dawn of Dawan" in 10th grade, and despite the low quality, his fellow classmates still rocked to it. The duo later summoned the aliases of TKO and Cashus Clay the Gr8 to form the short-lived KnockOut Kingz under which they released the five-song EP, Round 1, which was very well received by the local public. The two eventually split and Cashus tapped into his Rastafarian culture to be once again reborn as Ras Wiz or Prince of Wisdom.

	Ras Wiz is a hungry MC who uses real music and instrumentation to support his verbal onslaught. He and his brother Sir Illington, formerly known as Oowop88, have long been a musical team. With Sir Illington on the beats, this deadly combo creates classic hip hop with relative ease. In 2017, Ras Wiz also partnered with KouzinKeyz and DJ Vital Signs for a wide range of production on "Rolling Stone" as his debut solo project, which was released on the 10th of February 2017. He also plans to infuse a neo-reggae/ hip-hop/ R&B sound into future projects to further reflect his musical influences. He is currently working on changing the local sound of Music City to one that is global and easy to feel. A light, optimistic feel to the relentless struggle of the underprivileged and emotionally aware man. Everything is relatable.... to living, love, happiness, frustration, jubilation, etc. The style and empathy of Ras Wiz's SOL Muzik will cater to watever emotions u experience.
	
Dewand, affectionately known as “Wiz” or "Rasta" to close friends, is dedicated to making music for the good of mankind and making it relative to the masses. He is capable of changing the landscape of hip-hop on a global scale with his powerful rhyme style and soulful delivery. Ras Wiz has a catalog that is capable of traveling the globe and blessing millions with it's diverse music and, most of all, with his message of peace, love, motivation, and knowledge of self.
