FM synthesis experiments and drum synthesis practice paired with a Messaien-esque new age pad. All sounds are synthesised from scratch using a combination of Ableton Operator and Reaktor Blocks.

Had a lot of fun making this one, due to life, and catching Covid, it took longer than I wanted to get it done... I was on a real Goth Electro hype train when I made this. Got a lot of good feedback on this one too, to my pleasant surprise!

Experimenting with something different for a change, I brand myself as somewhat of a genre hopper yet most of what I've made lately has been industrial based so here's something left field that's Tom Wait inspired (instrumentally, I don't have his voice obviously).

I had a massive Tom Waits phase in the last year or so when I was feeling a bit down and out with everything going on so this track is inspired by that, and more specifically the "Blood Money" era of Tom Waits. "God's Away on Business" or "Starving in the Belly of a Whale" being the main the inspirations in particular.

Not sure if this'll be put out on Spotify and what have you, this was more of a "to see if I could" sort of song.

Something a little different, maybe, possibly... I don't know. Either way this was a fun one, a lot textures to work with and plenty of sound design that reflects that mountain of things I've had to deal with and the importance of having people with you through it all.

Eh, this is my way of putting emotion into my songs I guess... I don't know. To be honest with you, I'm fed up with things going wrong, it's a cliche thing people of my generation say but I'm just feeling f*cking "done" with it all, man...

Still... The only way is up, init? We go again xo

'Fungus' is about enabling toxic behaviour to the point it changes you and others, then holding on to bitterness and resentment that has grown as a result. 
'Fungus' will be one of five songs in an EP I intend to release in 2026 called 'Octopoda'. The project's focal point is holding on. Sometimes it is good to hold on and sometimes it is not. Sometimes you change yourself so that you can continue to hold on, but it comes at an expense. You might hold on to bad memories that make you feel bitter or sick, but you can't help it. Other times you hold on because it brings you happiness, for example a fond memory of somebody who is no longer with us.
I've called the EP  'Octopoda' because octopuses  are known for resilience, the ability to adapt, deceive, change shape and camouflage. To add to this, the obvious would be their tentacles and strong grip, which goes with the theme of holding on.

Merry December one and all... I don't know how we got here either. Still, we've got another one done and that's what we like to see. Going down that retro wave/industrial avenue again as I've been really inspired by Mothica and her work lately.

Hope you're good peeps. I don't know about you but I'm hoping for a more regular 2026, lol.

A cover of "Beneath the Mask" (Rain version) from the Persona 5 OST, produced as a gift to a brother of mine. This soundtrack brings back some memories of most of my house during the first year of my masters playing this game. Was a good time, man.
