When WE BUTTER THE BREAD WITH BUTTER sing the German nursery rhyme "Alle meine Entchen", it doesn't sound like swimming pleasure with a sweet yellow rubber duckie, but powerful 'Battleships' in the Baltic Sea!
The duo from Lübben in the East of Germany has focused on the highly idiosyncratic dubbing and covering of children's well-known songs. Blast-Beat attacks from the drums scrap the lovely melody of "Backe backe Kuchen", buried under tons of sludge-heavy riffs and driving the song with full force and dark growls against the wall.
At the end the audience is stunned before the ruins, alienated and wondering what evil the two gentlemen of WE BUTTER THE BREAD WITH BUTTER must have encountered in their childhood. Maybe they were bathed too hot when they were young,  the rest we prefer not to know...

"Why, in Death or Grindcore as a sterotype, are you only able to think about energy and Mosh-Pits. Why not forget all the conventional guidelines and the essential elements such as melody or modern influences?"  
After Tobias Schultka and Marcel Neumann asked this question, We Butter The Bread With Butter was born. They've achieved this with modern electro-melodies, embedded in heavy-sludge riffs and a really perfect Deathcore voice, a sound structure to create, what in this scene, is almost unique.
After only one year there was such a tremendously interested fanbase structured, that the two students decided to record their debut album in the summer of 2008. Even though they are just two band members, We Butter The Bread With Butter isn't just a project. For half a year the band was in the upper half of the Myspace Top-10-charts not only because of the 5,000 + daily profile views. Even the requests from the U.S. were increasing daily.
The band have plans to release their debut album in 2009. With the amount of ideas these 2 gentleman have, it might even be a double album act. Which then, should eradicate idea of it being "just a project". You may be curious what the two guys from the Spreewald still have in store...
