Ever had that dream where an insect invades the ear and sets up home to mercilessly tease and torment thereon in? If so, a form of similar reality is about to be unleashed as the Reverse Family step forward to announce themselves with a sound which trespasses and festers in the psyche. The difference is that this is set to be the most welcome invasion of ears as it crawls with relish into the imagination.

Reverse Family is the solo project of Dermot Illogical, aided by a fluid band of collaborators from time to time, this debut offering is a lo-fi exploration into an experimental DIY web of sounds and flavours which is hard to pin down but certainly embraces everything from post punk and noise pop to indie and old school punk.  

The first song we came up against was Alchopoppers on Fast Food, a brief and gentle yet deviously engaging song which instantly entices thoughts of seventies bands like Swell Maps and The Shapes but with the melodic natures of The Freshies. It is captivating stuff even with a drop into calmer waters which does not quite connect with personal tastes. We are not sure of the album's track order but if this is to be the opener it provides a potent start though the brilliant Way It Goes is an even bigger pull. Carrying an early Adam and The Ants feel to its magnetic stroll, the song is pure addiction with a funk revelry bubbling under its pop punk surface, Dermot as vocally mischievous as the guitar led sounds around him. 

There is great variety to the songs too; Bit Slits for example flirting with the senses through keys which manage to sound like the brass flames of Essential Logic while guitar and vocals veer towards the Nikki Sudden school of discord blessed minimalistic seduction while Electronic 6 entangles portentous keys and winy guitars with fuzzy vocals for a Dalek I Love You/Artery scented melancholy. It is fair to say that Dermot wears influences openly yet each song develops its own distinct character under often familiar hues.

Hand of God has a darker and meatier nature to its predacious swing, contagious hooks and a great grumbling bassline aligning with melodic enterprise for a proposal which swiftly grips ears and appetite; a success just as easily won by the lively pop bounce of One Eyed, a seemingly early Television Personalities seeded encounter and the hypnotic I Can Sense Their Watching Eyes. This too has a flavour of Dirk Wears White Sox to it but with funky beats and another irresistible post punk guitar jangle in its off kilter dub teased shuffle, the track blossoming into another unique proposition within My Songs About Life Mid Crisis.

Other tracks in the mix are Business or Pleasure, a delicious song which sounds like Weezer soaping The Piranhas while recording it all in the bath, The Legend of Pierre with its haunting keys wrapped sultry croon, and Odd Mix Newgates, a seductive magnetic monotone tone spawned track surely inspired by Mark E. Smith.

The collection of tracks are completed by Higher Power with plaintive melodies and dour yet emotionally suggestive vocals and the outstanding May Number 10 Dream which again hints at bands like The Fall, Marc Riley and The Creepers, and The Mekons, as well as the criminally catchy Sods Law. Hips and feet beware as even in its low key nature it will have you swinging in an instant.

There are so many highlights offered by the Reverse Family songs; each track connecting with an ever eager hunger for punk fuelled, post punk spiced imagination. Plastic Punks epitomises this perfectly, its Fire Engines toned melodic jangle and Spizzenergi devilry sheer temptation again emerging as something specific to Reverse Family.

With a tongue in cheek lining to the lyrical reflection shaping songs which spreads into the music itself, Reverse Family is a beguiling adventure with a nod to the past and a grip on an imagination as fresh as it is, well quite simply a touch loco.

"Naming one's release The Sublime reeks of pretension but that may be the only misstep Robert Logan's (aka Sense Project) guilty of on this ambitious double-disc set. Each piece pursues a different direction, and thus every one brings with it surprise. It's also a less hermetic recording than the others, as Logan opens the studio doors to let vocalist Andrea Black and string players Sarah Sarhandi and Francis Logan contribute; he also broadens out the music's electronic core by integrating bits of field recordings here and there (e.g., “A Moment,” “Éjjel”) which lend the material a more naturalistic character.... Though long at two hours, there's much to admire about Logan's accomplished collection.

Insect O. composes music for travelling between ambient, dub and techno. The journeys are the inspirations for his hypnotic sound. In his studio he creates musically memories using tones of analog synthesizers, sounds from his modular system, endless echoes and warm reverbs.

In 2018  he released his first full lenght album Atacama on his own imprint Etui  Records. Together with Melbourne’s Echo Inspectors he also recorded Bourne Dub and Bribie Dub, which has been released on Australian Primary  [Colours] imprint.

The roots of his music are somewhere between dub and detroit techno,  inspired by artists like Basic Channel or Maurizio. His goal is to transform dub techno in an up-to-date audio frame, ranging from spheric and hypnotic to rough and driven. In 1998 he founded the label Etui Records and worked with many new and upcoming artists.

Always on the  look to enhance his art of music production he attended to FELD workshop  with Ulf Langheinrich at ICAS festival 2015, DAVE Workshop Camp with  Electric Indigo, Thomas Wagensommerer and Robert Henke at University of  Music in Dresden 2017 and 2018.

Nowadays he is member of DAVE festival board with focus on organising  workshops about music production and music business.

Ant Lion is an ensemble of four multi-instrumentalists whose birth dates cover four decades (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s), a natural assumption to the varied sound of the band: Stefano Santoni (artistic producer, in this band mainly bass), producer and founder of Kiddycar and Sycamore Age; Isobel Blank (vocals), eclectic artist and songwriter; Simone Lanari (guitar), producer and member of Walden Waltz; Alberto Tirabosco (drums) - the youngest -who was already active in the hardcore punk scene.
Ant Lion’s sound certainly reflects the influence of the late 70s / early 80s’ New York scene. Nonetheless the assimilated punk no-wave attitude is enriched by spontaneous and sometimes unexpected polychromies. The different generational and cultural backgrounds of the band members, mean that in their first album you could identify diametrically opposite elements. So it may happen to feel jazz-rock influences teared by punk rips, or hardcore drums matching with polyrhythms and complex harmonic games, closer to contemporary classical music. You could find yourself in places where no-wave and trip hop are tied in an alienating milonga or where prog elements - in the oldest sense of the word - blend with obsessive choirs stolen to minimalism, fragments of a visionary free jazz, or rather, due to the absence of studying in this discipline, of a “fake jazz”.
Metropolitan nights’ atmospheres in which a traditional Japanese instrument like koto, an orchestra xylophone with bow tie and the harsh sound of a false and rotten Les Paul just escaped from a "second hand shop", meet by chance and - without wondering why - begin an intense dialogue.
The band's name refers to an insect whose metamorphosis transforms it from a creepy larva to a sort of elegant dragonfly, an expression of that original oxymoron. A mixed genesis of which this music is a manifesto.

DJ Radzy is an internationally renowned Psychedelic Trance DJ and Promoter, hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Since the beginning of 2007, he has played a key role in promoting and organizing psychedelic trance music & arts events in Kuala Lumpur as the main organizer and co-founder of EPIC Tribe.

BELANTARA Gathering, an open-air festival that celebrates psychedelic trance music and art within Malaysia's verdant rainforest, was founded and is primarily organized by DJ Radzy.

DJ Radzy has been a part of BMSS Records as a label DJ since 2013

He has shared his music at festivals across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Insect Elektrika, one of the first Czech minimal live acts. Its founders, Martin Vodicka and Jan Vaclavik, after first meeting in the high school, find out that except same humor they have another same hobby – music.For great enthusiasm into minimal music they decided to establish the project Insect Elektrika in the year 2002.

Premiere live performance took place in the year 2006 that brings a number of other offers for shows in Slovakia, Austria, and Germany. The same year getlemen launched own minimal night called Bubbles digital night, which successfully continues till today and has hosted lots great artists (such as Philipp Wolgast, Kleinschmager Audio, Miss Sunshine, Easy Changes, Dubit, Splatter, Coeter one, Ixel etc.)

In 2008, released the free EP on the German label Vekton. The year 2009 is the year of change, since there is extension of the facilities for live performances and the light of the world sees more releases on labels Tracer Records and Minimatracx. Also present for first time their live performance in Germany, where enjoy great success.Their rapid rise in production is not suppressed in 2010, when the gentlemen release further releases on labels all over Europe (Monocline Records,Genesa, Paria Records).
On 2011 finaly meets Splatter and becomes the part of the Frucht family.

Live performances of Insect Elektrika are always very unusual, because guys love the experiments, but guys certainly no secret that they give space to their feelings and moods.

Kody Holmes has been working under the moniker of The Brave Optimistic since discovering adjectives could be used as nouns ten years ago in his early teens. After years of recording, touring and writing for local acts, Kody returned to school devoting the occasional break to his singer/songwriter hobby. Leaving his family’s hometown of four generations for a PhD program in mathematics, it seemed like an optimal time to track the first full length record as The Brave Optimistic. Kody, who primarily sticks to vocals, guitar and ukelele on the album, is joined by close collaborators Timothy O’Brien (drummer for Celebration Guns), Alex Dorr and Devyn Running, as well as his long-time producer Dan Parker (former guitarist for A Change of Pace) and a gang of studio musicians.

“Oh, Odonata” blends Kody’s traditional indie-rock upbringing with bluegrass, country, ragtime and other classic American genres to make for a rather interesting break-up record. It is sometimes hard to tell if the real break-up is between Kody and the female subject or his hometown of Phoenix. Either way, his love for science, math and all things nerdy clearly wins out, both lyrically and in real life. Look no further than the title track, a jealous ode to Odonata, the insect order containing dragonflies. “Oh, Odonata” will be out in its entirety August 18th.

The album includes “Break It (The Law),” a track Kody used to raise money for the Bradley Manning Defense Fund (now Chelsea Manning Defense Fund). Proceeds from this track on the full length album will continue to support the fund.
