My new song BABYLON is an effort to deconstruct preconceived notions developed within the Church which have put an unnecessary emphasis on apparel (especially women's apparel) and have distracted us from the value within individual identity and self-expression. In an effort to encourage women to know that their value lies in Christ alone and to teach them not to depend on body image for validation, some efforts within the Christian community have become counter-productive. While dressing conservatively isn't bad, when the conversation insinuates that women must dress a certain way to retain their value, we stray into dangerous territory where judgement and victim-blaming run rampant.

My hope is that BABYLON will encourage Christians to cease ostracizing and reprimanding women for their clothing and instead treat all of Christ's people with love, understanding, and grace.
